I think I have a routine now.

Life goes much more smoothly when one has internet.

Anyway, I've been in the country less than a month and yet it feels like I never left to begin with. (Side note - one of my lecturers actually lives in Wapping! But she has one of those nice flats that doesn't have blood on the walls. Still need to head out to the old pub. See what's what and hopefully get some treacle.)

Nearly finished my third week of classes with just my writer's workshop tonight from 6-8. (We're going over my work tonight. Eep. Been a long time since I've been in a workshop, and the first time it's one for prose. We'll see how it goes.)

Classes on Mondays and Tuesdays only is great especially this week since I won't have to wait around all Wednesday and Thursday for a package from Virgin. But now that everything's rolling, I have been able to finally establish a nice routine. Mondays are heavy on Publishing and a trip to the pub at the end. Usually I'm not home until 11pm or later. Gasp, shock, horror! A near-social life!

Tuesdays are class from 9am-11am (perfect after those late nights at the pub) with a long break until class in the evening. I don't mind the long break, though, as I'm close to campus and can go home in between. Some people have a long commute and need to wait around all day.

The rest of the week is dedicated to course work and planning a worldwide takeover with culf . It feels like we've always been flatmates. It's kind of weird, in a good way. Except when she starts stroking my hand trying to convince me to write Sherlock/John fic where John is committed and Sherlock gets himself committed to look after John. Then it's just scary weird. This Friday we're going to see Hamlet with John Simm! Special thanks to qthewetsprocket  for the tickets! So excited to meet her.

We're going to spent the night in Sheffield and come back on Saturday. Culf is calling this our "romantic weekend," but I'm strictly of the persuasion that it's a business trip as it's main purpose is to kidnap see JS.

"Sarah" is coming over on Thursday, again, to watch some more LOST. He may or may not bring Eleven's sonic screwdriver with him, as he brought it back from his visit home up north so that he could show it to me. And no, that's not a euphemism. I mean it's actually a sonic screwdriver.

And on a last note - sports! In case you were curious (which most of you aren't, I know) the Phillies have advanced the NLCS round for the third straight year! I stayed up until 4:15am Sunday night/Monday morning to watch Cole pitch the clinching game and it was absolutely worth it. We've won the NLCS the last two years and, of course, I want them to do it again. Getting to the World Series three years in a row is rarely down and very difficult, so it's going to take a lot of work, but I'm hoping our pitching stays as awesome as it is now and that we can generate some offense and make this happen. Basically, I have many more long nights ahead of me. But, the next game isn't until Saturday night, so I can catch up on my sleep until then.

It's a very odd/exciting time to be a Philadelphia sports fan. This type of success doesn't happen to us. We're still used to always being the losers. And what the Eagles are doing aside, people are excited for our teams. Flyers have a new, young goalie who is very promising. My mom said they hoisted the Eastern Conference Champions banner yesterday. Not the Stanley Cup, but still hard-earned and wonderful. Hoping to go to a hockey game when I'm home for Christmas.

And that's all for now. Currently reading One Day by David Nicholls, so I'm going to go read some more of that.

let's go flyers!, culf is the evil one, what restraining order?, let's go phils!, grad school is for cool people
