Why do I get so nervous over a frickin' phone call?

I do have phone-a-phobia. This is a well documented fact. After working on the last film, the sound of my ring tone freaked me out so much, I had to buy a new one because every time my phone would start ring I'd go, "Crap! What did I forget to do? What am I going to have to do? Did I screw something up?"

Anyway, no word all afternoon so once it hit 7pm with no call I decided to just call her. I even wrote out what I was going to say if I had to leave a voice mail, just so that I wouldn't stutter/mumble my words/sound like an idiot. I did get a hold of her (I'm going to have to think up a coded nickname for "her" but that's hard to do when I haven't met her in person yet). ANYWAY, I did get a hold of her and she told me that they don't know where they're going to be on Monday yet. The weather this week as made things a little unpredictable. If they're on an indoor set, I'll be meeting her there. If they're going to be on location, she said there's no need for me to drive out to that location because everything's under control there. So, if they are on location, what I'll probably do is go to the production office and fill out all my paperwork and get my security badge and stuff. The people I'd need to see for that are my awesome UPC who basically got me this job and one of the cool PAs that I know from the last film. It's amazing how these things are so much less stressful when you already know the people involved.

So, a call is going out late Sunday afternoon to let the crew know where to be, and she's going to call me shortly after to let me know.

Now that I know what the deal is, I can relax. I've just been sitting around, twitching like a spastic (as Gene might say), waiting to hear. I checked the formatting on my novel manuscript and read some of The Slide by Kyle Beachy, which I've been sorely neglecting the past few weeks. (About 80 pages to go and then I can go buy Pride and Prejudice and Zombies!)

I'm going to make some macaroni and cheese and watch I've Loved You So Long. I got it from Netflix and it's been sitting next to my TV for ages upon ages.

I really need to stop being so nervous over a fricking phone call. Sheesh.
