The foremost dread of a computer geek
My computer is basically dead. I'm pretty sure something is making the GPU overheat, and subsequently freezing the screen without warning (Restarting gives me a "No signal" message, hence thinking the its the graphics on the fritz). However, the number of times I've tried to nurse it along...and subsequently had to forcively shut it off, worrys me that I've done more harm to it. I've got a nice new Radeon 9600 on the way right now (With a bloody fan on it), so hopefully that will do the trick. If not, I'm going to have to do some serious financial finangling or I'll be one PISSED nerd by the end of the month *Twitch*
In other news, I did start playing a little poker online...and was able to come in 21st in a 2200 player tournament, not bad for a first time out. Unfortunately, the aforementioned problem froze me out of 5 smaller $1 tournaments and overall, I'm down 5 bucks.
