Pairing: Kitayama/Fujigaya (Hirosuke)
Genre: AU, Supernatural, Action, Drama, Fluff
Rating: R (at the moment xD)
Warnings: er.. none at the moment
Summary: He never cared for anything. Never wanted something for himself, heck he already he already had everything there is. He was the great demon, Fujigaya Taisuke after all. Yet one accidental meeting with a mysterious yet alluring demon turned his life upside down. For better or for worse? Nobody knows.
Author's Note: This was the result of staring this photo all night and imagining Taipi as a royalty instantly gave me an idea for a new story. Also, I decided to used "akumas" since vampires are overrated already. First time doing a multi-chapter fiction and I really hope I could give justice to this lol. I'm not really good with my vocabulary (might look for a beta soon) so forgive me if there's mistake here and there. Anyways, enjoy ♥

Chapter 1: The Fated Meeting

Set in the Victorian era of the demon realm where all demons were organized in a vertically structured way. Right at the top is the Demon King himself, ruling his kingdom flawlessly and maintaining the peace and order. All demons knew that Demon King was the most powerful being there is and no one can go against him. Little they knew that only part of it was true which the former was. The latter was merely propaganda to keep the royal family’s power unquestionable. Under the shadow of Demon King’s name were the great demons who each were assigned with a rank depending on how they served his Majesty and how much they were willing to put their very own lineage in line.

And the man who topped the very ranking was none other than Archduke Taisuke Fujigaya. Although the man himself wasn’t really interested in all that whatnot, he was simply blessed with all the traits a demon wished they had: a wealthy, noble lineage which traced back to the King himself, immeasurable powers to which most of it were rare even for a great demon and most of all, his physical appearance. Tall, slender figure which goes perfectly with every clothing, silky (and somehow fluffy) hair with long brown bangs falling over one side of his face giving him a more menacing and intimidating look, a set of piercing eyes who seemed to see right through one’s soul, perfectly upturned nose and his best asset, red luscious lips which can easily melt every females’ heart every time they would curve into a smile. He was the picture perfect of a great demon treated as an “idol”. But like what had been mentioned, Taisuke never cared.

He was easily bored with things resulting on doing random things that would pop up on his head. The elders constantly bribed him to be part of the royal ministry having the perfect combination of brain and powers. Taisuke just waved them off and would always answer the same thing, “I have no time for it.” He rarely goes out that every time he did; demons with lower ranks would immediately flock just to see a glimpse of him. Taisuke preferred to be in his mansion situated outside the city and away from the royal castle. To him it was the perfect place to avoid all those boring and nonsense they call “work”.

Though if there was one demon that can persuade Taisuke to be productive, it would be probably Yokoo Wataru, Taisuke’s best friend. Ranked as Duke and almost at the same level with Taisuke when it comes to strength and prowess, Yokoo was the only demon Taisuke would listen to. They grew up together, Yokoo always there on Taisuke’s mansion whenever the latter’s parents were busy pleasing the king. They did the same thing together: from attending primary school until they graduated and received their respective ranks. It was also Yokoo who would pick Taisuke at his home whenever the King would give orders (or more like pain-in-the-ass-jobs as Taisuke would put it) to them. Technically, each of them were capable of finishing one job alone and only lower rank demons would go on units. But since Taisuke was the epitome of laziness, Yokoo stuck on him to be his partner.

On that particular afternoon (which almost has no difference in the evening since there’s no “sunlight” on their realm, demons hate the sunlight), Yokoo showed up with his “Ketsueki pātonā" Iida Kyohei. Every great demon has their own ketsueki pātonā (lit. blood partner). They were demons with no ranks at all but were exceptionally strong and powerful that they served as “guards” or “right-hand” of the noble demons. In combat, they’re the first to face the opponent’s ketsueki patona before the great demons faced each other. Ketsueki patonas were bound by Faustian contract making their master’s orders completely absolute. It was another thing Taisuke found stupid. A great demon was powerful enough to defend himself so why have someone protect you?

“Taisuke,” Yokoo called. He found Taisuke casually laying down on the Victorian couch with his book covering his face. The concern person looked up and make a disgusted noise figuring out already why Yokoo came. "Can we deal with this later?," he answered, voice obviously miffed. "I'm tired. Bug me off later." Yokoo rolled his eyes and snatched Taisuke's book. "And can you make a more effective reason than that? I'm sick of hearing that again and again." And in a flick of Yokoo's finger, Taisuke met the floor the hard way like something had pushed him out the couch. He hissed and glared Yokoo dangerously but the older demon just stood unimpressed. Finally, Taisuke just resigned as he knew that Yokoo was a hundred times stubborn than he was. He sighed and got up. "Okay yeah whatever. Just let me changed, will you?" He called Kyomoto, his personal butler, and told him he's going out so make some preparations. Yokoo snorted.

"Now what?", he demanded.
"Nothing. I could see you're brat as ever." Yokoo answered, voice completely neutral which made Taisuke pissed off even more.
"Shut up. Seriously why do I have to be with you!?"
"Because you had no choice so come on. Let's get this done so you can stop with your childish whinning."

Taisuke was about to protest again when Yokoo turned his heels followed by his ever loyal bodyguard who watched the scene like it was completely normal. "Bastard", he whispered and hurried down to follow the older demon.

Taisuke and Yokoo flew in the city's skyline at ease, Iida quietly following from behind giving them enough space to talk. "So what is it this time?", Taisuke asked. At that time, the miasma (or the air the demons breathe) are thick that their voices can easily be lost but because they're two powerful demons, they can heard each other loud and clear. "According to the royal order that I received earlier, low-class demon are polluting the city square destroying half of the city's infrastructure and generally causing mass panic." Yokoo explained. "So why are we the ones who should handle it? Last I check, there are still guards around the city and I'm not included with them." Taisuke grunted. Yokoo had the urge to send Taisuke down with another flick of his finger but they were getting nearer to their destination. "You know better that the guards' powers are limited and by the looks of it, it seems this low class demon are stronger than the usual who roams around the city." He then pointed to the demons chasing the mob. Taisuke clearly saw them and Yokoo was right, they were different and he could feel their strong aura even from where he was.

Both demons swiftly landed on the square and their arrival caught the low class demons' attention instantly. One quickly attacked Yokoo but faster than lightning, Iida sliced it into half with his katana. The katana was black as night and radiated power of its own. Taisuke raised an eyebrow. "Impressive," he observed, "a katana directly summoned from your shadow." He then regarded Yokoo but the older demon just shrugged. "You're spoiling him too much you know," he said while watching Iida finished the low class demons one by one. "None of your business. Just do your own thing." Yokoo scolded.

With two powerful demons and almost-equally powerful ketsueki pātonā working, the battle was almost finish in a blink of an eye. Taisuke barely left a finger and every time a low class would dared attack him, they would instantly turned into ashes even before they get too close on him. "Dojutsu" Yokoo mused. "Taisuke can you fight other than using that power?" The younger demon turned around and grinned at him. It was a mistake even for Taisuke because the moment he did, a low class demon, one who radiated a stronger aura than the rest, came to attack him. "Watch out!" Yokoo yelled.

Neither of them were fast enough to react but when Taisuke turned around, the low class body was already rigid, a samurai deeply pierced into its chest. The body crumbled and standing in the midst of it was a demon Taisuke had never seen before. The demon was short (much to Taisuke's amusement) but his body clearly revealed that he was built and physically strong. He had dark hair and half of it were pulled up into cornrows on one side, a pert nose (which Taisuke found cute) and almost had the same lips as his (which now made him a little irritated). But what the thing that caught Taisuke's attention most of all was the demon's eyes. He was greeted with a pair of red eyes directly looking at him. They were menacing and loudly screamed "deadly and dangerous" yet Taisuke was still drawn. The demon just stared at him blankly and Taisuke realized he was still under his Dojutsu.

"Impossible. No one can withstand it. Not even the great demons." he murmured. He felt Yokoo's hand on his shoulder and heard Iida's footsteps just right behind his master. Questions started filling Taisuke's head but was suddenly interrupted when the mysterious demon finally spoke up. "Can you lower down your guard? It's irritating and it's obvious I'm not the one who you're after." His voice was almost neutral like Yokoo's voice but an obvious smugness was mixed into it making Taisuke even more irritated. "Just who the hell are you?", Taisuke demanded.

"Probably you're most beautiful nightmare" the mysterious demon answered blatantly followed by a mischievous smirk.
