Now that all of my beloved tv shows are on holiday, I have to do something. Like, watch some new shows (how original. I know)
So I did a selection, and here they are, the chosen ones : The Hard Times of RJ Berger, Persons Unknown, Pretty Little Liars, Rizzoli & Isles, Coverts Affaires, Huge and Rubicon.
Today, I saw The Hard Times.., and Persons Unknown. Let's do a proper review for both of it.
So here's the plot : " A coming-of age comedy that follows awkward life of RJ Berger, a late-blooming loser with an anatomical gift." Basically, it's Hung in high-school. It's watchable, nothing else. The main character is kinda cute (in a loser way), but it's just a succession of stereotypes : the loser (with glasses), his loser friend (who's big and only thinks about sex), the slutty/not pretty/outcast/barely goth girl, the pretty blond 'I'm sixteen but I look like I'm 25' popular girl (who's the loser#1's crush) and the mean, mean, mean (and stupid) basketball player (pretty girl's bf). It's MTV, so they do say fuck all the time, but you have these annoying 'biiip' everytime they say the F word. Besides, they openly masturbate (twice in 20 minutes), there's some ugly drawings/cartoon moments with french kissing, and OMG THE LOSER HAS A BIG BIG BIG DICK!!!
Conclusion : it's not good. It's not bad, but it's more bad than good. I'm gonna give it another try.
Plot : "Revolves around strangers who are imprisoned inside a small ghost town." Pretty good. Really. So you have these seven persons who wake up in an empty hotel, in an empty city. They don't know why they're here, who abducted them. They just know someone is watching them, and that they can't live the town. It's well done. You feel the tension, you want to know why, you start to suspect some people. I'm sure it's gonna be full of cliffhangers and swings and surprises. It's The Prisoner meeting Lost. Hope it's more Prisoner than Lost tho...
Funny thing : the Joe guy should do Koh Lanta : he starts a fire in like 1m30, with some crappy wood and nothing else...
And now, SPN Big Bang, here I am!!
