if you dont know about esperanto, read about it here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esperanto on barack obama's website, he is having people vote on which ideas in each category that they would like him to discuss and look through. i'm not sure who or how, but it doesnt matter. only the top three are going to be actively considered. esperanto is #2 in education now, but please vote if you think the idea of an international auxiliary language as a means of learning other languages is a good idea.
several tests have shown that if you learn esperanto for a year, and then learn french for a year, your french will be better than someone who learned french for two years. this is because esperanto's grammar is super easy, and you spend your time learning how to communicate and say what you mean, rather than learning verb conjugations, how to spell, and how to pronounce it. then, when you go onto french (or any other language), you already have the skillsets needed to learn a language.
