I just finished Ender's Game. I started yesterday. It was a good book.

It reminded me of the books I used to read when I was little....when I actually enjoyed reading because it wasn't forced. :P (uh oh, I feel a list coming on ;) )

Matilda by Roald Dahl and many other books by him.
One of my favorite books as a kid! I remember my friend, Carol, read it and raved about how good it was. And I was all, if Carol likes it, it must be good! So I did. Carol has good taste! And then I remembered that I saw a preview for the movie and told her and she was all, "No way!" and I was all, "I know, it's crazy!" lol good times...

The Giver by Lois Lowry and many other books by her
This is one of the few times I was disappointed that I never got to read it in class. All my other friends were forced to and it never happened to me. It was sad. So, I checked it out of the library myself and I don't think I ever returned it...I think I still have it at my house. lol

The Witches by Roald Dahl
Another good book. LOVED Dahl.

Is He a Girl? by Louis Sachar and many other books by him
I know, by the title the book already sounds weird. It was such a good book tho! It's about a boy and he was told that it isn't possible to kiss your own elbow, and if you did, you'd turn into the opposite sex. He was able to and thus became confused about his gender. This was my gateway book to Sachar's book. After I read this, I was all, "I want more!" and more Sachar I read. It was great. It's a series, and for some reason I hated most books in series. So I read this, and didn't read the others.

Holes by Louis Sachar
Super good.

Wayside School is Falling Down
Another awesome book. I think I was reading it when my grandma was visiting me, so I made her read it too. lol She liked it :P

Baby Sitter's Club, Little Sister
I hated all books that belonged in a series, except for the books in this series. I was a victim and couldn't get out of it. It's awful, I have so many of those books now....I'm disgusted.

Witches Don't Do Backflips
I started reading this book BEFORE it became a series. yea, that's right. The book wasn't supposed to be, and then all of a sudden the authors made more books, called the Adventures of Bailey School Kids and I was hooked.

The Orphan Train Quartet Series Joan Lowery Nixon
I totally forgot about these books, til now! They were SO good. I remember reading them in 5th grade. It took place in the 1860s and it's a story about 6 orphans from the same family. Each book was the story of one or two kids and their lives with their new families. It was so good. I really wanna read it again! Another group that was exempt from my series hatred. :P

The Clock by James Collier
Another book that took place in the 1800s. About a girl who worked in a textile mill. I really remember much else, other than that I liked it.

The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin
If you've never read this book, you have no idea how good this book is!! Seriously, it's so good! That's all I can say...GOOD! I'm totally reading this book during thanksgiving break. It's kinda like setting the game Clue as a novel. Or the movie House on Haunted Hill (the black and white one, I never saw the remake), except that I don't think it's as violent b/c it's a children's book. An awesome mystery book tho!

My Teacher is an Alien and Aliens Ate my Homework by Bruce Coville
Ok these are probably horrible books, but I'm a secret sci fi junkie. As a kid I was, anyway. :P I don't even remember anything about these books but I bought them and I read them because there were aliens. lol

The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury
Ok so I didn't read this in elementary school. But it deserves an honorable mention. One of my favorite books of all time.

Nothing but the Truth by Avi and many other books by him.
Ok so I actually don't remember the other books I've read by Avi but I know I read a lot by him. Maybe I don't remember b/c they weren't good? ...but then why would I have kept reading books by him? I dunno. Either way, this was a good book.

Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing by Judy Blume and many other books by her
It was good. Superfudge!

Killing Mr. Griffin by Lois Duncan
I remember reading every book I could get by her in jr high. It's good if you like suspense

Ok, that's enough. ^__^
