I'm still trying to get help from Verizon to re-hookup my home Internet. Meanwhile I am using public computers for Internet access. There are things I cannot do on the pupblic computer, such as put up birthday cards for my LJ friends or log into my NYT Xword Puzzles. It's been a week now since I shut down, and I think it's about time they hook me up. They claim it's ready and sent instructions, which I followed to the letter, but it still does not work. When I call the phone number I get a long involved voice mail and when I finally get a person, she says, "One second and I'll put you on line with someone who can help you," and then -- back to voice mail, same message I started with! Ridiculous! I get the distict impression that these people do not want to be bothered! Grrrrrr!
