Eek, it's over two months since the last Sims post!
When we left, House and Wilson were dealing with their new baby son, Evan. We join them again on Evan's birthday...
Warning: Wilson is about to be pregnant again (i.e. Sim-type mpreg)
Sims go through seven stages of life, unless some horrible accident or illness befalls them. The stages are baby, toddler, child, teen, young adult, adult and elder.
Evan is about to reach his first milestone:
Wilson is blowing out the candles on Evan's cake for him. House, who came rushing downstairs from bed (hence the pyjamas) is waving a football rattle in the background, which is what Sims tend to do at birthdays. His shoulder isn't actually dislocated, I just caught him mid-twirl.
The candles are out, confetti falls out of the sky (or the ceiling...), and hooray, Evan is a toddler! House was actually very happy about it, but for some reason he looks seriously underwhelmed here.
Toddlerhood brings all the fun tasks for parents, like potty training. Wilson is wearing a special Sims hat that increases the speed at which a skill is learnt or taught. Sadly it doesn't decrease the boredom while waiting for the child to pee... Evan hasn't become suddenly radioactive, he's been fed 'smart milk', which also increases skill-learning speed.
House is back from work and puts Evan to bed. But what's this? His pyjamas are pink! Wilson obviously bought all the baby clothes... *coughstereotypingcough*
That's better! A nice, neutral yellow. And now it's time for a cuddle before bed.
This is Evan's bedroom, or to be more accurate, the baby-raising room. It's much easier to raise a Sim baby/toddler when it's kept downstairs and near the kitchen (for feeding) - it saves so much time in carrying the baby round the house.
Evan is in his cot, just behind House, and the thing next to the cot is the baby-changing table. The piano is actually in the next room, but as I took the walls down, you can't tell from this picture. Wilson is in bed; I have a bed in the baby-raising room so that whichever adult is doing most of the baby care is close at hand. And in case you're wondering, Wilson is dreaming about himself. The grotty-looking thing on the wall is the back of the mirror in the piano room.
Wilson and Evan have both had a good sleep, and it's time for a cuddle before breakfast.
House is at home today, and he's teaching Evan to walk. He's wearing the training-acceleration hat, and Evan has just drunk his smart milk (and yes, Sim milk is green - yuck!) and is about to start glowing - you can see it starting above the top of his head.
Evan is getting the idea nicely. Wilson is just coming into the kitchen for lunch and to watch the training.
Success! Evan can walk! And look, House has broken both wrists :D
Wilson is pregnant again (that's his 'paternity' shirt he's wearing) and is taking a little time to watch a soap. He doesn't know that he'll be giving birth sooner than he thinks (and sooner than I expected...)
I made the error of sending a heavily pregnant Wilson out to fetch the mail, and alas, he went into labour right there in the street. House came running - he had just got home from work (hence the suit) and was playing his hand-held game, which is what he's still holding. The glowing dummies (pacifiers) over House and Wilson's heads are the Sims version of "hooray, a baby".
House was very excited at the birth. He ran over behind Wilson... and then started playing his game, less than five seconds after the baby's arrival. *sigh*
Wilson decided it was a good idea to let House pick their daughter's name...
Hello, Footpath. Welcome to the family!
