Nice to hear from you! As a Methodist, I love your 'hippy dippy' description! It's perfect! I have dabbled in various churches and came back to the Methodist church (where I was raised) because nothing (imho) beats the elegant simplicity of John Wesley's view on grace and faith. Good for you in making the connection between faith and works! Woohoo! Another Wesleyism.

Good for you on going back to school. I've had the random thought over the last few years that being a hospital chaplain would be something I would find fulfilling and enjoy, but the closest seminary is 3 hours away, so not exactly a realistic option. If I were ten years younger...yeah, I'd find a way to make it work. But then again, you never know where the road will lead you.

I have started Christmas knitting as well. Do you play on Ravelry? It's a great place to find like-minded knitters, just be careful you don't get sucked into spending all your time on the boards. If you go there, look me up...mscorkill.

Fandom? What's that? Sadly, no shows have grabbed me the way the great love-of-my-life did. Lots of folk seem to enjoy Fringe, Sanctuary, Eureka, Warehouse 13, NCIS...but I don't get a sense of fandom the way it used to be. Of course, I'm not actively seeking the places where all the action may be occurring.

Don't stay away so long next time!

We are total hippy dippies! I'm a born and bred Methodist, and I've tried everything and come back to it because it just makes sense to me.

I do not do Ravelry, but it appears that I should! Perhaps I shall correct that oversight shortly.
