Lucrecia had literally passed out in Vincent's arms moments after being picked up from where she fell into this world. Even if she had been able to complain, she probably wouldn't have. Being in his arms was something she'd never allowed herself the pleasure of before and now that she was too exhausted to push away or care, she found that he was extremely comfortable, buckles and buttons not withstanding. So she'd snuggled closer to make sure he didn't drop her and on the way, she'd fallen asleep out of exhaustion ( ... )

The feel of something brushing against his cheek and hair was enough to awaken the Ex-Turk as he mumbled sleepily. He nuzzled his head into the sheets a bit before realizing that something was a bit off. Something had moved. Crimson eyes blinking open, the man looked around a bit, slightly disoriented, before gazing back at the woman before him, her arm hanging out. Had she tried to grab the computer again?

Taking a few moments to get his body working again, Vincent reached out and gently placed his gauntleted hand in hers, squeezing it gently. His other arm had fallen asleep from the position, apparently, and he didn't really want her to see what had truly become of him... but he had no choice.

He frowned a bit. Explaining everything that happened was going to be difficult. But he was patient. He wouldn't rush it on her. Just wait until the time was right, and take it slowly and carefully ( ... )

Lucrecia felt Vincent move, though for a moment she tried to pretend she was still asleep, but when she felt that gauntlet in her hand, all of her sense was lost. Her head popped up to see that arm, scientist's instincts warring with her past and her emotions to find out exactly what the heck that was. She hadn't been paying attention when he'd moved her the last time and she hadn't been "awake" to see over the years in her crystal ( ... )

Vincent was a little confused, but tried hard not to let it show on his face. She was so scared, so shocked... maybe he shouldnt've grabbed her hand like that, but he still couldn't bring himself to pull away. There had to be a way to comfort her... to make her feel better. But what?

Then it hit him like a brick to the stomach. It was so painfully obvious.

Pulling back the sheets, the Ex-Turk sat up and climbed in alongside the brunette, wrapping his arms around her and resting his head on her shoulder. He pulled back the sheets over them and curled up alongside her, keeping her warm... safe. The man stroked her back as he whispered gently into the woman's ear. "Don't cry, Lucrecia. It's alright." He held her a bit tighter. "I'll take care of you now, don't worry. Nothing'll hurt you. Nothing."

Lucrecia's shaking didn't stop. She knew those words were meant to assure her, to help her in case something like that did happen, but she knew she wouldn't be able to handle the world if that were to occur. No matter how corny it sounded, Lucrecia needed, truly needed, the real deal beside her. Anything less would break her spirit.

She was trying to smile at him, trying to show that she would at least attempt to take those words to heart, but the moment he leaned over her eyes widened in surprise and all coherent thought was kicked from her head the moment his lips brushed hers.

One of her arms snaked its way to his side, where she held on, her grip on the fabric echoing her surprise. Chocolate brown eyes slid shut and Lucrecia couldn't help but allow her lips to part and accept the show of affection she was suddenly receiving. This was new for both of them, but... her beating heart and the warmth in her stomach told her she wouldn't trade this feeling for anything the world had to offer. She was his now... fully, completely,

Vincent's lips parted from hers as he leaned back onto the couch, not even thinking about what he had just done. Was there... was there some feeling left in his heart, after all? Was the wall finally being broken? She was here, they were together... he expected nothing less. He smiled a bit down at the woman he cared so much about. Things were finally getting back to normal, after all these years. ...monsters and crabs aside.

He pulled up the covers around them more, snuggling down into them and holding the woman close to him, stroking her hair. She was really here... He felt his eyes blink a little more heavily, and it was then that he realized how tired he really was after such a long and trying day, physically and mentally. Vincent leaned into the pillow more, his head resting against hers, as he breathed deeply. "...I love you." He sighed quietly as he finally drifted off to sleep.

Lucrecia had to nearly force herself not to whimper when Vincent pulled away from her again. Her head tilted downwards and she pulled herself closer to him, tucking up under his chin and against his chest. She was going to stay with him for as long as she could and she would make sure he was happy during all, or as much of it as possible.

A smile graced her lips as her eyes closed. She wasn't sure she'd heard those words correctly, but she would cherish them nonetheless. It had taken her years to figure out that she felt the same for him and she'd never known he had felt that way for her.

She would never make that same mistake again.

"I love you, too, Vincent Valentine," she whispered against his chest and she joined him in blissful slumber. Tonight, they were together, and that was all that mattered.
