Characters: Uzumaki Kushina, Namikaze Minato.
Content: Minato saves Kushina from what she insists would have been a perfect landing, and they talk/angst/philosophize [on Minato's part, anyway]. They're also at the 'wtf are we?' part.
Location: Where Avenue A meets 4th.
Time of day: Late afternoon.
Warnings: Uh, Kushina might swear?
Later Kushina would deny ever having fallen at all - or she would deny, at least, that she were ever in any danger. Clearly she had been planning to land properly - as would any well-trained ninja. She'd just been - distracted.
And Minato had just ruined her landing. That was all.
For a moment, however, after landing safely in Minato's arms, there was clear surprise and relief written across her face - it was never hard to tell what was going through Kushina's mind, and this was no different. She didn't complain, for a moment, that her husband had caught her [from what was going to be a perfect landing, mind], but allowed herself to be startled to silence - a rare, rare thing.
Then there was embaressment, annoyance. "Put me down, Minato! I was perfectly fine. You ruined my perfect landing." The redhead paused, although her anger was somewhat ineffective when her husband only set her gently down on her feet - it was so hard to keep up the proper level of indignation when he only humoured her about it. When she really wasn't indignant at all, but was worried and scared and...
"Where are we, anyway? Did you do something? This is something you did, isn't it?" Which was entirely unfair and untrue and Kushina's tendancy of jumping to conclusions, but she didn't know anyone more powerful than Minato, and, well.
Something like this would take power. Right?
But then, of course, her mind jumped to more important matters - though she'd never left these thoughts, had only been trying to prolong the moments between, because there was no one with Minato and that scared her more than anything else ever could. Weird worlds of stone and scared people could wait - there was something much, much more important. The most important thing - the most important person in the world. "Where - ? Did you...the seal? Where's Naruto?" Her questions were coming even more rapidly now, and she gripped Minato's arm, unaware of how hard she might be doing so. Her fingers shook, digging into his skin - this was the answer she most wanted, the answer she most feared. It meant everything.
