The broadsword he had retrieved the week before didn't need to be over his shoulder, but old habits died hard. He was used to his katana, and the lighter, smaller weapon was going to take getting used to. At least it was something that he knew. Auron had debated searching the city for something closer to his weapon of choice, but the broadsword was good enough and he had other priorities besides.
The past week had been spent searching for Tidus from the second he had left the ramen bar. He hadn't had much luck so far, but the boy had to be here somewhere, didn't he? If not, there was still the chance he made it to Spira safely, which was good, but Auron still worried about him. Spira was not a place to trek alone, if not for the fiends than for the need for company. The world was already depopulated enough, and that population was dropping. To have someone standing next to you helped keep those thoughts at bay. Not completely, but enough that you could talk about other things than your sorrow. Reality was a harsh place and this place was disturbingly close to it.
He'd had to dispatch a few of the crabs during his traveling and had realized that these things looked nothing like Sinscales at all. Auron wasn't entirely sure whether or not that was a relief, but it was something. Though it was still a possibility, this creature wasn't Jecht. A large fiend, then? That was most likely. Part of him wanted to check out this monster for himself, if only to finally satiate his curiosity, but that was suicide, even for a dead man.
Auron sat down on one of the park benches, finally allowing himself to relax. He was actually getting tired here. Not that he didn't get tired normally, but it wasn't what he had become used to. Then again, he supposed he should have expected this. He had been looking through the city for a week with minimal sleep, minimal downtime. He was bound to get tired sometime. Perhaps I should begin searching for a place to stay, he thought to himself.
