Still, it also made him sad. If he went back to his dimension...it would be back to Solara. He still wasn't sure what that meant for him, Uncle Press's words were not very clear on that or perhaps it was Bobby's inability to understand.
Part of him wanted to go to the "real" Manhattan. He wondered how Uncle Press would feel.
Bobby was lost in thought so he almost didn't notice J standing around. Bobby paused and reached into his pocket. He had several small jump drives there, each with a copy of his journal that he had been writing since he had gotten here. He wasn't planning on giving it to many people, but he figured J and maybe Sora would appreciate it. He wished he could get one to Daniel. Bobby had finished it that morning and had typed furiously to do so. He was glad he was used to writing journals fast.
"Hey, I was hoping to run into you," he said.

Of course, none of that came out. Instead he fell back on the question he'd been asking everyone. "You holdin' up alright?"

He still hadn't made up his mind if he wanted to risk rejoining with Solara to find out.
"I have something for you. I figure if you ever start thinking all this was just some crazy dream." Bobby pulled out one of the jumpdrives and handed it to J, "It's the journal I've kept, not the one on the network...this was a bit more personal." He smiled slightly, "Hopefully the jumpdrive will work in your world, wherever you're going." Bobby hadn't really thought about it NOT being able to work somewhere. Hopefully it would.

"Bobby, I've seen so much crazier..." He grinned and shook his head, trailing off as Bobby offered him the thumb drive. He took it, looking down at it while he listened to the explanation and struggled with words not for the first time that day. "Twenty-first century Los Angeles," he finally replied with a wry smile. "Think I can manage." He slipped the drive into his pocket and laid his hand over it - that was one thing he wouldn't want to lose. "Thank you."
There was something on his mind, a question he hadn't been able to manage until now, and J finally spat it out. "Hey, you travel, right? Different worlds, dimensions, all that?" He paused - he was pretty sure Bobby had told him that, yeah - then continued. "If you ever run into Daniel, d'you think you could pass somethin' on to him for me?"

He wasn't sure what to say to J at first. He had traveled, but he wasn't sure how Solara really worked. Bobby found himself nodding, regardless. After all, hadn't Press said something along the lines of being able to see whoever you wanted, when you wanted. Maybe that would apply to more than just the worlds he had visited in the flumes. Maybe he could somehow visit other places as well. "Yeah...I can do that. What do you want me to tell him?"

"Tell 'im..." And suddenly J was just the slightest bit nervous, because this was the Fight Club rule and it was all supposed to be so far on the down-low that people walked right over it - they were secret agents for a reason, after all.
But it was Bobby and, by extension, Daniel. He trusted them. That was enough.
"Tell 'im if he's ever in Los Angeles t' look me up." He pulled the black wallet, worn smooth and slightly battered from years of use, out of his back pocket, flipping it open to show off his badge and identification. The small, familiar motion felt good after so long. "Agent J of the Elite Beat Agents," he said with just a bit of pride. "Dedicated to helpin' the world through the power of music." Even as he said it, J knew it was corny. He didn't care - it was the truth, and he knew Daniel (and probably Bobby) would get a laugh out of it.
He flipped the wallet closed, sliding it back into his pocket with practiced ease. "The same goes for you too, y'know."

He couldn't stop himself from laughing. He hoped J didn't take it as rude. It was just odd to be told by someone like J that they were a secret music agent. Who knew, right?
"I'll keep that in mind, J," Bobby said, still with a wide grin in place. He was quiet for a moment before adding, "Thanks."

"An' I'll do some readin' when I get home." Each doing something for the other. Fair enough.
The gratitude, strangely enough, took him by surprise. "For what?" he questioned. "From what I remember, you were the one pullin' my rear outta the fire this whole time. I should be thankin' you."
