Pixie and Roxas (Late Day 1-Midnightish Day 2) soulswordpixie September 8 2009, 05:31:29 UTC
Pixie tried to stay up longer. She figured she could do something to help. But it felt late and she was really tired. I mean, you would be too if you teleported a piano that was huge. She wandered into one of the opened cells, making sure it was empty first. She wasn't on rotation to guard, everyone understood how tired she must be from all this.

She slowly shed off the armor one piece at a time. Glad to be out of it for the first time today. She wished she had a change of clothes to. Lots of activity made her a little sweaty. Add in the heavy armor without a proper AC in it. Yeah, it wasn't that comfortable. It'd be nice to be rid of that second skin to sleep. Since she had to wear it all of tomorrow too. She finally took off the last piece, the chest piece, and sat on a cot.

She wasn't sure if she'd wake up sometime useful in the morning. She felt that tired. She neatly piled her armor up and sat down. She didn't care that the door to this cell was somewhat broken and didn't close right anymore, she was wearing very little in the way of clothing, or that her hair was messy- messier than normal anyway. She just wanted to relax a little.

Roxas, by contrast, was restless. His shift on watch for the evening was over, but he'd still spent most of the last hour or so pacing the hallways. Sora was okay, and so was Megan, that was what was important, but just because everyone from the cells had managed to hole up safely didn't mean they were safe. And Roxas hated waiting. He knew that a lot of people needed to rest - and he'd acknowledge, grudgingly, that he himself should probably rest too - but he couldn't get himself to sleep. Until he could it was just more waiting, and he couldn't stand it.

So he was pacing, his hand still on the sword he'd gotten earlier. Some part of him was vaguely hoping that he'd wear himself out this way and be able to sleep.

He only paused when, halfway down one of the corridors, he caught sight of a familiar glimpse of pink and black past a door that hadn't been closed all the way. He hesitated at the door for a moment, and then pushed it open - a little warily, with none of the almost angry abruptness his footsteps had had up and down the halls.

"... hey."

While Pixie was very tired, and needed the sleep, and getting to sleep would be easy. Having Roxas appear did give her a small pick-me-up in the energy department. She fluttered over and gave him a hug, "Hey yourself." She was very happy to see him, and was very happy that she found him so easily, rather, he found her.

It took her a few moments to register Roxas's state-of-mind. For a guy who insisted he had no emotions, he wore his worry pretty openly right now. "You okay? I thought you took an earlyshift guarding everyone. Why are you still up?"

Roxas hugged her back and smiled a little - figured hugs weren't so bad, when he wasn't being tense and twitchy about them - but it faded a little at her question.

He gave an it's-no-big-deal sort of shrug, and stepped back. "I'm fine. I just can't sleep -" He glanced at the door, frowning. "And I hate not being able to do anything and just ... waiting."

"We can't keep going forever without a break Roxas, we need to all rest," Megan figured Roxas would have some trust issues. Given what she knew about his history, "The others can keep guard, and you put your guard down a little."

"It isn't just waiting, it's planning. Collecting. Important stuff to winning," Megan wasn't entirely sure about what the others were doing. But creating a safe place to sleep was a usual priority if you had no easy escape plan. "We're on their turf... err, boat, we can't just go running around without knowing everything. And some of us are too tired to keep fighting right now."

"I know that," Roxas said, frowning. "I just don't like it, that's all." He didn't particularly want to say, after that, that running around without knowing everything was usually his approach - run in, and fight until either someone told you what you wanted to know or there was nothing left to fight. He didn't do waiting around unless someone else made him, and he never took to it kindly.

He sat down heavily on one of the cots, slumped. "I'm not tired." He sounded kind of like he was, though. "I want to fight something."

"There are lots of stuff you don't have to like, but just have to deal with till you can fix it," Megan offered, "right now we need to rest so tomorrow we can kick butt."

Megan grinned, "Well, if you want to fight, I'm sure we could spar a little." She threw a few punches and a kick into the air. They were not fast, weren't very good, all the skill was there but she was too tired to really do it right. It seemed a lot more playful and helpful, not that she was trying to mock his asking to fight.

She sat down next to him, "Or... we can both try to sleep, um... maybe... here... at the- I mean," she gulped, "together."

Of course, when Roxas had said he wanted to fight something, what he'd meant was he wanted to hit something until it stopped moving, so he shook his head immediately at Megan's offer - "It's okay," he said, but the little smile was back - for a second, anyway; it froze a little at what she said next and he just sort of stared at her for a few seconds.

"Er," he said, articulately. Were the cots even big enough? "I ... yeah. We ... could." It wasn't like they were going to - do anything, or ... right?

Megan smiled contently and lay down on her side. Her wings off the back of the cot, she took up a little less than half the cot, she wasn't all that big. Her body was sized for her wings, so she was light enough to fly. She supposed she could be a bit more... she did fly with her armor on. But she liked how she was.

"It's fine, we both need the rest... and I don't really wanna be alone," She had spent all day being strong, and she was strong. However, with someone around she could be a little less strong, use a little of his bravery. "Please?"

Roxas watched her lie down with an uncertain sort of silence, not at all sure what he ought to do or say but sure that he wanted to do or say something. At last he gave a tentative nod, although he stayed sitting up, for now.

"Yeah," he replied quietly, looking back towards the door again. "I don't either."

Megan was kind of confused. Everything she learned in school (admittedly, the sources of Santo, Victor, Hope, and Jess were not the most reliable in this subject matter) said that an offer like this should make the guy jump at it (or, from Santo, further than offered... but its Santo). Roxas was most notably not jumping at the chance, even after agreeing to the not wanting to be alone.

"Well, um... the sooner we sleep the sooner you can wake up tomorrow and fight things?" Megan paused, sitting up a little, "Unless something else is bothering you..." She was a little concerned as to what he was thinking up in that cute head of his. He wasn't exactly Mr. Sharing.

Roxas shook his head as if slightly startled. "No ..." He wasn't Mr. Sharing, at all, but there was nothing bothering him that he hadn't already mentioned. She was right, though. The sooner he got to sleep the less waiting around he'd have to do ...

He lay down kind of reluctantly, keeping his distance and staying very still. She ... really wasn't wearing that much ...

Megan wasn't sure why he was being all stiff... except for the personal space thing. Maybe that was it, he was shy! Well, shy is okay. She closed her eyes and tried to sleep.

She did move one hand to hold Roxas's hand, that wouldn't be too bad, right? I mean, its just holding hands. Even someone like Roxas can't be weird about that.

Apparently that was a good move - Roxas seemed to relax a little as he closed his hand over hers, and ventured a smile. He was still tense, but he seemed like he was trying not to be.
