"Whoa!" Billy flailed a bit as he woke with a start, nearly falling off his cot. Zoe's shaking had done its job. He blinked once, staring up at the unfamiliar ceiling, before hauling himself upright. A sudden wave of dizziness suddenly assailed him, causing him to sway a bit as he swung his legs over and made his way to his feet. At first he chalked it up to the blood suddenly leaving his head, but then the memories of the past few days came back to him. The message. The people disappearing. (Man, what he would give to find out how these people managed to do that...) Was this a side effect?

Billy raised his hand to scratch at the back of his head before the soreness in his arm made itself apparent. Frowning, he looked down at his arm and was greeted by the tell-tale marks of an injection site. He'd heard the reports. He'd heard about what happened to the people who'd been kidnapped. He knew the formula had been improved.

He began to think that maybe his current physical state had maybe a little less to do with knockout techniques and maybe everything to do with CRAZY NOT COOL MONSTER TRANSFORMATION FORMULAS.

He fought down the PANIC that rose up within him and asked, "Any idea where we are?" Twitch-blink. "Better yet, any idea how to get out of here?"

"Looks like it," Zoe said quietly to the girl with a small smile. She then walked over to the remaining occupant in the room and worked on attempting to wake him up too. It was time to go - who knows what the hell was out there, and if the injection marks were any clue, they didn't have much time before they...

She stopped that train of thought, and shook her head in response to Billy's question. "No idea. But-" at this she nodded at the door, "looks like we have a lock to mess with."

Yellow stood in the back of the room, trying to analyze the situation. Picking the locks? Okay, that sounds like a good idea. She started to dig in her pockets for anything useful, finding them unsurprisingly empty. Of course they would have emptied her pockets... even if they mostly contained crayons and pencils and the like. Anything that could be useful... gone.

Except when her fingers brushed a very familiar card. Her pactio, it was still there. "They-- they forgot to take it away!" she said, a bit in shock, holding up the card to her face just to make sure she wasn't delirious. Of course... it looked just like a card, they couldn't know that it was a magical artifact. It wouldn't do anything good to pick the lock, but once they were out of there...

Sorry Negi, but I'm going to have to borrow your powers again.

Balthier startled awake, though there was a lingering lightheadedness that took awhile to subside. "Isn't this a cheery good morning?" he muttered under his breath, sitting up. So this was where people who disappeared ended up. Of course they couldn't just send them home. Why would they bother? At least it was a setting he was somewhat familiar with. Maybe one he could make a quick getaway from.

It was around then the sky pirate noticed the dull pain in his arm. Not only a kidnapping, but an experimentation, hm?

"And who do I have the honor of sharing a cell with this time?" Balthier asked, glancing at everyone in turn before eying the door thoughtfully.

Billy, like Yellow, had nothing useful in his pockets in regards to picking the lock. He didn't even have anything that might be useful later on. Maybe if he'd had his villain costume he might be able to scrounge something up (tricks up the sleeves and whatnot), but alas -- he was in his civvie clothes. Laaaame.

He thought he heard their cell-mate stir, and the question that soon followed confirmed it. "Oh. Um. My name's Billy," he answered. Introducing himself as Dr. Horrible, self-proclaimed villain, didn't exactly seem like such a good idea right now. Especially without the labcoat.

"Name's Zoe," Zoe said. She nodded towards the lock. "Before we're even more humped, anyone got an idea as how to get out of here?"

Yes, she could pick a lock, but who knew how long that would take?

"I'm Yellow," she answered, bowing lightly. "It's nice to meet you all, even if it's like this."

Yellow looked around the room. No, there was absolutely nothing she could do about the door, that part was a dead end. However, something caught her eye.

"That vent... I think I'm small enough to fit in it."

((ooc: Just trying to get us all caught up~))

There was a faint sizzle-pop! noise that suddenly came from the heavy steel door, followed by a heavy-sounding clunk. Curious, Billy went over to investigate.

"Thaaaaat might not even be necessary," Billy remarked, cracking the door open a few inches and taking a peek outside. For whatever reason, the formerly very locked door had suddenly become unlocked. And it looked like the other captives had decided to break out and fight back.
