"Good evening, Luis," she purred, walking towards him.

Luis wondered if he should be the first one to bring it up or not. But "Hey so I bet you've failed completely at that vaccine formula I gave you" seemed a little rude.

Perhaps she'd let him bring up his mistake... Perhaps she'd see if he'd take the initiative. Or perhaps she'd beat him to the punch. "Was there, perhaps, an error in the information you gave me, signor?"

Expertly as a total natural, Luis tilted his head slightly and looked confused. "An error? What kind?" he asked, sounding genuinely concerned. "Come on, baby, science is my one true love. My data is like my children. I wouldn't have put out something with a mistake in it... not on purpose anyway."

She wrapped an arm around his neck. "So, you must love Jello, then, to have created a sheet of data that ends up being the recipe," she taunted him, shaking her head.

"It what?" he repeated. Then he chuckled. "You're kidding, right? Oh, shit!"
Then he did an excellent feign of somebody realizing something. "Shit, shit, shit! Baby, losientos! I'm sorry! I must have stuck the wrong page in for encoding!" He slipped out from under Excella's arm and took a few steps back, looking for all the world very sheepish.
"The nutrient gel that I created for the pathogen to live in-- it's based on the formula they found in Central Park, but I couldn't work it out-- so I created my own and I had to use a gelatin base for it. Like the dessert, you know? It must have still been lying around when I was gathering up papers... the computer does the coding itself, you know. I'm so sorry about that."

She let out a slight laugh and shook her head. She didn't believe a word of it, but he didn't need to know that. Not yet at least. "I realize that simple errors happen, bello. Don't worry, as long as the vaccine was created without any error, that's what matters. Besides, you've been so overworked... I'm sure it has stressed you out much like it has myself~"

Luis shoved his hand in the pocket of his coat (the one with the gun in it) and kept up that honest-looking smile at her. "You know, they always tell you science is all about lab work and paper work and nice calm things like that... not so much, right? I could definitely use a little down time."

But this wouldn't do. Her back was to the lobby, so whenever Birkin did join them, Luis would have seen him first... In no time at all, Excella had pressed Luis against the wall with her body, her fingers tracing designs lightly into his chest. "Or how about some up time?" It was a terrible reference, but she was sure he wouldn't mind. All she had to do was keep him from seeing Birkin enter, then turn him into the line of fire...
She pressed a kiss to his neck before nipping lightly. "I'm sure I can handle that," she purred.

And she was aggressive today too. "Whoa, ho, slow down, baby, business before pleasure!" he said, and put a hand on her shoulder to attempt to push her off. He was still unsure of the state of things here-- and Luis hated to be unsure of things. He wanted to know for sure what Excella was thinking now... get the ball back in his own court.
"I've got to get you a working copy of the vaccine data," he said after a noticeable moment of being very, very distracted.
Reply
That's what they wanted, after all... The vaccine data... It would keep them from having to search for his lab after this... But she knew he wasn't truly going to give her the real data...
"Do you have it with you, bello?" she relented. After all, if Birkin had found out she was offered the data and hadn't accepted it, there was nothing stopping him from putting a hole in her back as well.

"But my lab isn't too far from here," he said. "If you want to sit tight, maybe make yourself comfortable, I could be back with it shortly. Then... how'd you put it before? Discuss at length?"
Reply
He wasn't that foolish. Excella sounded disappointed as she pressed herself closer to him. "I did not come to retrieve the proper data... And while I would love to discuss it at length, I'm sure we could find something else to discuss," she cooed, her hand tracing down the side of his torso and stopping on his thigh. "Besides, you wouldn't want to keep me waiting, would you?" she purred in his ear.
No, he wasn't foolish enough to lead her back to his lab. But he was foolish enough to try and distract himself from her and run... He could try.

She was coming on a little stronger than usual. Of course, it was usually him who was doing the come ons... Excella always seemed to just give in after a while. "Are we going to stand here in the hallway or find somewhere a little nicer? Like a room?" With door locks.
Reply
She tried not to look offended as he grabbed her wrist and pulled it away. "Now who's in a rush?" she smirked at his suggestion to get a room. No, she followed his train of thought all too perfectly. No locks. This would complicate things far too much... The more she could stall...

He heard vague, muffled voices floating in from the lobby, culminating in a rather suggestive chuckle from Excella. Hopefully she had Sera distracted enough to allow himself a few moments to become oriented before being forced to take a shot - he had experience with guns, yes, but he was far from an expert marksman. He edged toward the hallway, wrapping his hand around the pistol and drawing it out slowly.
