Eva and Thomas. lilacvampire September 3 2009, 04:12:48 UTC
Evangeline had been there since only minutes after the healers vanished. Perched over a table of notes, supplies, diagrams. A charm, a ward set, an anchoring point. A means to fight back. Every idea had some hitch, some thing she lacked in this world. Some spell she lacked the power to incant.

She screeched and cleared the table with a wave of her hand and a flurry of icy winds. "I hate this stupid city! I can't craft a protection spell large enough for a person. I can craft one small enough for a Resort, but I can't build a resort here!" She growled, "This is the most humiliating thing I have ever suffered... next to Albireo." She was definitely pouting... even if she wouldn't admit to it.

Thomas didn't know what to think anymore. The Healers had vanished...not kidnapped...poof vanished. He felt frustrated, like there was nothing he could do. Eva had come over and had been plotting for awhile now while Thomas had kept and eye on the network.

Minako was gone. He didn't realize how close he was to the young woman until he had heard she was gone. He almost wanted to cry...and then of course he had found out he was an uncle...an uncle! The baby and his sister-in-law was going to disappear soon too and it shook him to the core. He wanted to go find Harry and shake him...but he knew Harry realized this reality as well ( ... )

Evangeline didn't want to think about what she was feeling under her anger. It was a feeling she had not truly felt in 500 years. She last felt it right after she was turned. In the moments after she realized she was no longer a little girl but before she had decided to kill the person responsible. She turned away from Thomas's eyes, "I don't want to give up. I don't want people I don't hate to vanish. I want to find those guilty of this and shatter them!"

Her words and grand gestures all a cover for that feeling she did not wish to remember. Although her words were true, she liked spending time with Vyers, playing with Yellow, toying with Orihime, training with Negi, working with Harry, and sleeping with Thomas. She did not want to lose certain people here.

She took a few steps away, this was so silly, so her voice was quiet, "I'm too old to feel this. I've killed too many people to be allowed to feel this. Me, the most feared dark witch in all the world, scared... laughable."

"Well, we might get a chance after we vanish, who knows," Thomas hoped they did. He hoped because he wanted to show them the true horror they had unleashed by pissing off people like himself. He wanted to utterly destroy the bastards, probably as much as Evangeline wanted to ( ... )

"I'd rather I knew!" Eva hated this helpless feeling. God, no wonder all the humans at her school were whiny. Was this what they felt like all the time? She felt weak and small and altogether not like she should. She was a feared monster, monsters do not feel this way.

Had she buried her fear like that, "I fought off an army hunting me across the French countryside. I took on two dozen mages in Rome as the sun rose. I fought off a herd of Dragons smuggled into Germany. Hell, I've seen Jack Rakan naked. None of those things made me feel as small as right now." She clung to Thomas, not in any way she's done before. Not for very fun activities in the bedroom, but just for the straight comfort of not being alone.

"I hope so... it'd suck if this was the end."

Thomas snorted, "I think we'd all rather know. Everyone here would rather fight and be able to plan and set up defenses than be taken away like this. It just isn't right." This whole situation was fucked up though and it always had been. The past few weeks of solace had been leading up to this.

There had to be something more though. To just accept this as inevitable was driving Thomas mad. He couldn't, every part of him rejected it.

For awhile, he just help Evangeline, realizing that this was a rare moment with her in many different ways. "Heh, it would suck. People like you and Harry...you have to have a fight before you can call it the end. And there will be a fight, I feel it...we just have to make it past this disappearing act. These people think they can just fuck with us, but we've thrown them off for so long...if we hadn't they wouldn't be doing this in the first place."

"Nothing about this place is right," Evangeline wanted to go kill something. Of course there were very few deserving targets... Okay, Lelouch, but other than him there weren't any deserving targets. She new that would be rash and that that idiot was something useful to this island... sort of. She didn't want to feel good, she wanted to feel bad, feel like the monster she had been for so long.

"I wish I had your confidence, but something about this feels rather... permanent," Evangeline looked down, "In a perfect world we'd get to rip the limbs off those responsible personally. However this isn't perfect by any means."

Thomas sighed, "Yeah, but it doesn't help to think that way." Harry was probably rubbing off on Thomas or something, at least if he was being this optimistic and actually looking FORWARD to a fight.

"In a perfect world we wouldn't be in this situation in the first place, most likely...we'd also be in a spa right now," the last part he decided to add to lighten the mood. After all, Harry wasn't the only one who could crack jokes. "But, it's been fun."

He took the opportunity to run his fingers through Eva's hair a few times. As a hair stylist he could really appreciate her hair. He wondered why he hadn't really focused on her hair before.

Thomas wasn't sure if Evangeline would approve but he started loosely braiding a few strands together. He wasn't very far down when he disappeared and Evangeline's hair fell back into place. Thomas was gone.

He was right, in that stupid Nagi-style idiotic way! This was in no way a sentiment she expected from Thomas, it was something she'd expect from Boya or Harry.

"A co-ed spa~" Evangeline cooed, feeling a little better. It had been fun, even if she hated this place, the people here didn't completely suck. Evangeline was content to sit there, with Thomas playing with her hair. It was kind of nice. Even if braids reminded her of that idiot Albireo.

Then he was gone. "No, NO!" Evangeline pushed some magic into her leg and kicked over the table. Then started to cry. This really sucked.
