To tell the truth, Keiichi hadn't been feeling 100% about the party he'd organized since... well, before he was even done organizing it. It wasn't just the idea that they shouldn't be having fun while Manhattan was coming down around their ears, though that was part of it - but he couldn't stand just sitting around doing nothing for any length of time, and this was the first solution that had come to mind. Worse was the fact that, by making it a guys' night out, he'd gone and excluded Rena and Mion from it. He'd somehow figured they were going to the girls' party earlier, but now that he thought of it, he wasn't sure where he'd gotten that idea. It wasn't like they'd mentioned it.
But given how many people had RSVP'd already, he couldn't exactly back out now without looking like a total idiot. And anyway, it was a good opportunity to meet the folks around here, and get to know Satoshi better. All he knew about him right now was what he'd heard during the battle for Satoko, and (from his own experience) that the guy didn't talk much. In the meantime, he'd been compensating by reminding himself that this was actually a great idea and it was going to be awesome. Mostly out loud.
They arrived at the bowling alley what he thought was fairly early, right around sunset. They'd gotten lucky on their search earlier in the afternoon, and thus Keiichi came toting a six-pack of Miller Lite that was actually a five-pack. (What had happened to the sixth one was anyone's guess.) The door was already propped open when he arrived, though, which was kind of unexpected. "Hey, you think someone got here before us?" he wondered aloud to Satoshi.
