There was something else going on here that Sora felt like he was missing...Elphaba sounded mad at Seymour, and he didn't at all like the way that Seymour said "that will not be necessary." Of course it was necessary, as much as Sora didn't like the creep, it was better for them all if he stayed a human creep rather than become a giant monster.

He frowned, clearly unsettled, and stepped forward. "She's right, you gotta get that fixed." Sora didn't wait for any sort of response...no matter what strange argument Elphaba and Seymour were having, he and Billy had a job to do. He raised the Keyblade and commanded a cure spell.

Just as he did, he realized something...there was a magical shimmer surrounding Seymour; invisible unless something else magical was hitting it. His cure spell created a burst of bright green light across Seymour's front...and then bounced right back. Had Sora been using an offensive spell on the guado, he would have found a fireball or stream of ice shooting back at his face. But since he used cure, he instead found himself getting 'hit' with the cure spell...and got the unusual sensation of having most of his energy drained, and then instantly restored.

Sora jumped back as soon as the green leaves vanished, and drew the Keyblade into a defensive position. Everything about this was wrong. "He cast Reflect on himself!"

"Reflect?" Some kind of counter-spell, it had to be. Billy's initial bewilderment at seeing Sora's cure spell fail hardened into hostility as he realized that Seymour must be doing it on purpose.

"He doesn't want to be healed," Billy said in quiet disbelief, well aware that he was stating the obvious but too baffled as to why anyone would make that choice to keep his mouth shut. But if Seymour could use magic too then there was no time to waste, and, shifting his grip on his staff to bring it round in front of him, he started to chant, "I want his bite to heal I want his bite to heal I want his bite to heal -"

It might not work, if Seymour could counter magic like that, but he had to try.

"As I stated before, it is not necessary," Seymour murmured, offering Elphaba what could pass as a reassuring smile. "This is part of the plan. Do not fear, for your troubles will soon be over."

Apparently the Reflect spell had been a good idea. Lazily, Seymour grinned and raised the small pipe-like instrument he'd been carrying for a while. Time to let the facade drop. "There is no need for healing today," he informed them, smirking a bit at the sight of Sora's spell bouncing back on him. "My plans have been set into action. I am poised to save each of you, everyone who yet remains in such a -"

He broke off with a sudden cry, noticing what Billy seemed to be doing. He was the Healer who had been there at the time of Andrew Basil's transformation. No. He could not be allowed to try, either. Launching himself at the group, Seymour slashed the pipe at Billy's midsection, as much to knock the wind out of him as to knock the staff away.

"And what plan is that!?" Elphaba demanded. "I had no troubles to complain of until you started acting so different from yourself today! Is that trouble going to end?" She was actually afraid now, though she managed to conceal that and manifest it in the form of more intense anger.

This was what she had felt upon discovering the Wizard's crimes tenfold, or even a hundredfold. The Wizard at least hadn't been a trusted friend who had been in her life and known her secrets and feelings for a long time, and Elphaba didn't give her trust easily anymore. She wasn't the naive girl who thought that a single powerful person would make everything better, but she had faith in the few she did believe to be true friends. Now that faith was cracked and just about to shatter. She felt betrayed but couldn't understand what had happened, or more importantly, why.

When the situation came to physical blows, Elphaba's control over her emotions, and through them, her power, began to slip. "STOP!" she shouted, and for about twenty seconds, everyone complied whether they wished it or not. Elphaba was the only person in the room capable of movement, but she was too stunned to take advantage of that capability, standing rooted in place herself.

Didn't want to be healed? But bites were extremely painful, they made you feel miserable and sick for days before turning you into a giant monster...

...Unless that was what Seymour actually wanted.

Sora didn't know what Seymour was babbling on about, but it looked like the guy hadn't learned a thing since they're last encounter. He was mad now. "I'll show you trouble!"

When Seymour jumped up to knock away Billy's staff, Sora jumped up as well to strike back with the Keyblade. When suddenly, he felt his limbs freeze up and his entire body come to a standstill. He couldn't move, but he was also suspended in midair, and still aware. A stop spell? Was Seymour the one to cast it? But it looked like he was frozen, too...

The spell seemed to last forever, all with Sora mentally straining against his frozen state but getting nowhere. When it finally ended, his Keyblade came down on Seymour's pipe, but without the full momentum of when he's first swung it.

Billy was too busy concentrating on the spell to make any decent effort to dodge, and the full brunt of Seymour's blow knocked the staff out of his hands and knocked him backwards, and -

- and then everything stopped.

It was magic, he could feel it, and he realized it had been Elphaba who'd shouted - she'd cast it, not Seymour. Billy tried to gather his own magic to break it but it was even more difficult to focus than it usually was, and, although he was repeating over and over in his head that he wanted to be freed it did nothing - after what felt like an age he finally dropped out of the air, landing on the floor in a heap of dark blue cape and winded mage to watch Sora's weapon belatedly strike Seymour's. Billy didn't have time to scramble for his staff - he reached out a hand towards them more on instinct than anything else and sent a jolt of blue lightning crackling towards Seymour.

Seymour's smirk was wiped off his face at the sight of Sora leaping towards him, even though he'd just sent Billy flying-

The momentary freezing of his entire body was certainly unexpected, and try as he might he couldn't break free of it for what felt like forever. He'd recognized the voice, realized that Elphaba had been the one to cast it, and though she seemed to be hindering him at the moment, he was still not inclined to do away with her just yet. She was valuable after all.

As soon as he could move again, his weapon clashed with Sora's, sending a jolt of pain coursing through his arm. He remembered the last time he and Sora had physically clashed like this. It had culminated with a cheap shot at Seymour's badly injured leg and he knew this time he would need to be careful of his wounded arm.

Trying to push back from Sora, he used his considerable height and weight to his advantage, attempting to put a foot into Sora's stomach if possible. This left him rather open for Billy's spell, but luckily the reflect took the brunt of it, giving him time to cast Shell to REALLY lessen the effects of any magic aimed his way.

Regardless, everything combined to thrust him backwards a few paces, but that didn't really stop him and within moments, he was aiming the pipe at whatever bit of Sora he could reach.

She hadn't meant to do that. Elphaba knew now that no matter how this ended, she had already lost. She wanted an explanation though, something to make any sort of sense out of why her friend, one of the only true friends she'd ever had, had suddenly warped.

"Seymour!" The anger had drained from her now, leaving only pain dulled by an unwillingness to accept this betrayal. "What plan? Why won't you be healed? Do you want to become one of those giant monstrosities?" The final word was imbued with slight overtones of fear and revulsion. Perhaps, though, her tone was not entirely for the creatures themselves but the idea of losing Seymour to that particular fate. He still meant something to her, even if Elphaba had started to wish she could feel nothing for him.

In all the things he'd had to deal with in Manhattan, he never thought one of them would be fighting someone who didn't want to be healed of a horrible infection. That wasn't going to stop him, though...if they had to knock Seymour unconscious and then heal him, then so be it. There was a lot more than just his health at stake.

This was clearly upsetting Elphaba a lot. "I think he does!" Sora yelled, hoping this would help explain their sudden fight.

Their weapons clashed, and Sora saw Seymour wince...the bite mark was on his arm. He wanted to avoid hitting it, but he also wanted to keep Seymour fighting with him. His magic couldn't get through this long-term Reflect spell...but if he distracted him long enough, maybe Billy's magic could. He didn't use spells the same way Sora did.

Sora was forced backwards by the huge guado's considerable size and strength, even while wounded. Billy's lightning spell surprised him for a bit, and he very nearly got hit by the swing of Seymour's pipe. He leaped at the last minute, suddenly remembering that he did still have those wings, and his leap took him up into the air much higher and longer than he could have normally. He tried to fly around behind him and clock him upside the head with the Keyblade. If Seymour couldn't reach him, perhaps he could use this temporary magic to his advantage.

"It sure looks like it," Billy agreed through gritted teeth, drawing the same conclusion as Sora - they'd have to knock him out before they could heal him. That would still mean they'd have to be careful, though; it'd be no good to get Seymour to the point where they'd be able to heal him without him stopping them if they were both too exhausted to actually do it.

It was a good thing that there were two of them, and that Sora wasn't a Squishy Wizard like he was, Billy thought as he watched Sora fight.

He'd finally managed to get a hold of his staff again, and he used it to help himself up, lightning sparking around his hands as he shut his eyes and focused on Seymour. "I want him to go to sleep I want him to go to sleep I want him to go to sleep - "

The only thing Seymour offered Elphaba was a short laugh, something that came out as more of a cackle than anything else, before he was distracted by the sight of Sora's wings and Billy's new spell.

Drastic times called for drastic measures. Pulling back slightly, he called up the magic he could, putting all of his effort into the casting of one Multi-Fire. It wouldn't do much damage to either, but it would certainly be enough to hopefully distract them while he attempted to again knock the stupid staff out of Billy's hands.

Stupid Healers.

Elphaba tried to think of a spell, or anything that she could possibly do to stop this. All of her spells were useless for combat; the testing of her limits had left her with only that conclusion. Besides, what the witch wanted wasn't a battle-spell but a spell to end battle, without the nastier possible endings.

Armed with her broom, the witch stepped between Seymour and the Healers, arms out in both directions as if to push them apart. Her semblance of a weapon was located in the hand nearer Seymour not by chance but because she had the least idea what to expect from him. At least the two boys would heal her afterwards. "Stop this!" she demanded, turning her gaze to Seymour and adding her very last attempt to verbally stop him, a terribly sincere, "Please," imbued with warning. Elphaba would never again trust the Guado, but she still wanted this to come to a happier conclusion than she anticipated.

Before Sora could get in another swing, a sudden burst of flame in his face threw him off balance. He jumped back, but still got a little singed by the magic fire, and landed hard on the ground with a yell. If he was burned that badly ,he wasn't going to pay attention to that now. Brushing the remaining cinders off his clothes, he jumped back to his feet, Keyblade ready.

But before he could make another move, Elphaba stepped between them. Was she still thinking that Seymour would listen to her? He was laughing maniacally and attacking the people who had come to help them! He was obviously insane! "Elphaba!"

Sora threw another glance at Billy, silently directing him to keep casting any spell that would either heal him or put him to sleep so that they could get this sorted out. Maybe if Elphaba kept him distracted enough they could actually get that spell to work...

One of the worst things about being powered down here was that Billy had to concentrate much harder if he wanted to do any magic beyond flinging a bolt of lightning at someone, and it was practically impossible to focus enough to actually bring a spell into effect when the target was hurling fire at him what the hell. He had to keep his mind completely on the spell to cast it, and with the guy right there attacking him and - setting his cape on fire -

"- Damn it!" Billy practically let Seymour knock the staff from his grip, backing away so quickly he was levitating for some of it, for now occupied with trying to stamp out the flames. Maybe Edna Mode had had a point after all, damn.

It was unfortunate for them that Seymour had had to deal with much worse things in his day. However, just as he was winding back to launch himself forward toward Billy again, he noticed Elphaba... She had stepped between them. Looking from her to the two boys, he paused.

"I am afraid that is not an option, Elphaba," he told her, eyes mostly focusing on Billy, who posed the biggest threat to him at the moment. "This is the only way to save all of you, to save everyone who has come to live here in this city. And save you I must, for you cannot be allowed to suffer like this."

Yet, he still didn't move, mostly calculating how much energy it would take to get Billy down and out first. If only he still had access to his mother's summon... that would certainly turn the odds of this battle.

"Save us! Saving us from the monsters is one thing. I don't know what you're doing! I don't know about anyone else in this city, but I'm not suffering. It may not be the best place, but it was nicer than home in a lot of ways!" There was a delicate balance between anger and just plain hurt in her voice. Seymour's next words would probably be the determining factor in which way that balance toppled.

"It sounds... like you're talking about putting people out of their supposed misery. That's not your choice to make, Seymour! After everything, don't I deserve a little more of an explanation!" More strains of desperation crept into each subsequent syllable she uttered. This was the end of a friendship, and she hadn't had very many of those. If all she could take from it was an explanation, she would get at least that much.

There was no room in her attention for the Healers. She didn't think they'd attack her, and she was too upset to really care if they did. Elphaba had been hurt before, and physical pain would have been preferable to the emotional pain she was currently experiencing. It probably couldn't be worse, in any case.
