Spock stilled at the bid for his attention, head angled and eyes glancing to the side as he attempted to place the voice sounding from behind him. No one he had met before, of this Spock was sure. And the voice certainly did not originate from his world.

The words, however, expressed a certain familiarity with his identity.

This particular situation was becoming somewhat more common than Spock would have originally predicted. Beginning with Nero's informal greeting on the bridge of the Enterprise to the recognition articulated by the various denizens of Manhattan regarding his "Nimoy-status", Spock was beginning to believe that this other alternate "Nimoy" was absolutely shameless in his quest for recognition.

Naturally, it was less probable that the Nimoy these people were referring to involved the Ambassador.

He turned partway, glancing at the woman with exotic hair over his left shoulder for a second before turning to face her fully. She did not appear to be an immediate threat.

"That is correct," Spock confirmed in a neutral tone. "I am Commander Spock. To whom am I speaking with?"

Ahaha that's okay. Delayed epic is still epic! diva_foxx August 18 2009, 06:30:54 UTC
He seemed a bit guarded, especially for a party. Then again, there was a saying about pot and kettle that Foxx knew full well would apply to her at this point, and therefore kept her mouth shut about that.

"My name is Foxx," she replied simply, ever the mistress of the straight face. "I believe we've spoken on the network."

Spock did not do parties- not unless it involved an expedition party exploring the surfaces of a new planet.

The introduction garnered instant recognition. Spock's expression betrayed none of the irritability that was quickly suppressed at the visual confirmation of the very person who had made free to convert his application routines.

She was not...entirely what he had expected.

He was not surprised that she displayed no remorse for her actions. James T. Kirk had similarly displayed none.

"Yes. I believe we have." Spock straightened, hands folding behind him in its customary position. If he stood a bit taller, well. It was certainly a trick of light. "I presume there is a purpose in your attempt to communicate with me."

Foxx couldn't well expect him to be friendly - she had hacked his entry, after all, and he hadn't reacted well. If all else failed, maybe she could set him at ease.

"On the network?" she clarified. "I was curious, and believed I could help once I'd seen what you'd written. Here...you wouldn't believe how difficult it is to find intelligent conversation. I thought you'd be a safer bet than most of the other people I've met."

Her reasoning was straightforward and her response was frank, qualities that Spock found a preference for when conversing with others. With a few exceptions - and the exclusion of Nyota, Spock had never understood the female capacity to avoid direct answers.

"I would not suggest disregarding a person's intelligence on the basis of their technological skills," Spock offered, tone not as reserved as it had been previously. "However, I must admit that I had not expected anyone to summarily intercept my messages." There was no boastful qualities to Spock's words, just an awareness of his limitations and the cognition that in Starfleet, he was considered one of the best.
