Morris had been pretty set on the idea of never picking up a gun again. It was the sort of thing he'd thought he'd be done with when he got into the Agency, and the sort of thing he was fine with leaving behind. But as he headed out with his own bat, he found himself wishing for a weapon with a little more oomph to use on the stupid insects that had thought to go after his partner.

It was his vague promise to 'be careful' that kept Morris from running out to Derek the instant their conversation was over--instead, he took the moment to find who else was coming, and have them tag along. They'd have to tag fast, he wasn't waiting for any slow little tomatoes.

So it wasn't long before he found the store that they'd holed themselves into. A glance in the window showed a flash of red hair and a flash of red chaps, confirming the address. His expression the whole trek over had been one of strained frustration, but he put on his dry smile as he opened the door. If he knew Derek, the last thing he needed was seeing more people getting all worried and needy at him. "Knock knock. Someone needed a few chaperons on this date, I hear?"

Not again not again not again.

That was the sole thought running through J's mind as he grabbed his bat and headed out of the hotel, keeping an eye out for Morris and falling in step with his fellow Agent when he found him. It had been bad enough when he'd been bitten, Starr had been worse, and now Derek? Evidently the crabs liked the taste of Agent and J couldn't be less thrilled about it.

He entered behind Morris, the barest hint of a grin on his face (if he couldn't smile for real, he could at least hide the worry). "Ding-dong, Avon calling." Same idea, different reference. With any luck, they could get everyone back to the hotel in one piece.

There was no mistaking those two. Derek looked out the window as soon as heard them. Then, he looked a little past them. He didn't see any crabs.

When Morris and J entered, Derek got up from the chair, maybe a little too quickly the way the store swayed. He shook his head and kept his arm held while ignoring how the bandage was starting to match his hair. Even if he had been worried about them coming, Derek was relieved to see the two familiar faces.

"Introductions can be later," he said. Who knew who could wait. "Nothing happen on the way here?" Everyone looked unharmed... But so did Foxx and Daniel. Though, Daniel appeared to have calmed considerably by now.

Derek went to the door, looking up and down the street. Still no crabs. Good.

Daniel Jackson was perfectly calm; he was more worried about how Derek was doing. The man felt a wave of relief at the sight of their help coming in through the doors. He hadn't been able to get Derek to relax, and he had a feeling the man wasn't going to until all of them were safe. Not that he begrudged the man his sense of moral obligation, but Derek was the one who needed help right now, not him or Foxx. Well, maybe Foxx. She looked like she wanted to go into a back room and cry but was too stubborn to do it until they were out of here.

Morris and J were the first through the door, but they migrated straight to Derek, so Daniel went to see if any of the others had arrived. They had, and pretty soon everyone who had volunteered was there, including Mac and his car, and Hotsuma, and someone he didn't recognize. They'd all be helpful in making sure this little party got somewhere safe with minimal trouble.

After making sure that everyone knew what was going on, Daniel walked back to where Derek was talking with J and the other man he didn't recognize. Daniel nodded to them both. "Glad you all could get here so fast." He gave the black-haired man with J a curious look, then held out his hand to shake. "Daniel Jackson. You guys want me to fill you in on what happened, or wait until we're someone safe?"

J and Morris coming was the best news Foxx had heard all day. She was still clutching the nightstick for what felt like dear life, and Daniel's assessment wasn't far off - she wanted nothing more than to find a quiet, private place to get ahold of herself, but she wasn't letting it happen until they were all back safe in the hotel and Derek was healed.

She glanced out the window - it looked like more than J and Morris had responded to the call for help. Good. Much as she appreciated the Agency's secrecy, at this poiont they needed all the help they could get, especially if crabs started to show up again.

"Wait until we get back," she finally spoke up in response to Daniel's question. She didn't want to be out here any longer than they needed to be.

Morris nodded along with Foxx's answer. "This area recently got a pretty nasty reputation for being dangerous. Some nasty rumors about what goes on." He gave Daniel a quick glance and a brief grip of the hand, before focusing back on his teammates. He didn't really want to spend the moment worrying about what to say to someone not in their personal know. "Bryant Park's much more warm and friendly. Let's relocate, shall we?" He gave Derek a pointed look, and gestured for them all to make their exit. No need to converse much further. Get themselves someplace a fraction less traumatic.
