Almost as if he were a child throwing a tantrum, the red-cloaked man threw himself forward and slammed still-glowing palms onto the concrete, the claws cracking the hardened rock some. Whatever humanity was left inside of him, it was fighting. And Chaos didn't like it. Not fully understanding the others' words, the ex-Turk snarled and attempted a swipe at the young girl, the movement only half-heartedly as he continued to struggle with himself. There was... something inside of him. Something telling him to leave the ninja girl alone. At that moment, he couldn't fully grasp why exactly, but he couldn't bring himself to kill her.

One left. The silver one was still standing.

If he couldn't take her out, then he'd just go for the alternative.

Pushing the girl out of the way, he charged, somewhat faster than before, and attempted another swipe at the silver-haired man, digging sharp fangs into the other man's shoulder if that failed. If he was going to attack, he needed something, and the girl was off-limits. Leaping back, the ex-Turk gave out another inhuman roar before charging again, determined to make this human dead.

Sephiroth was convinced Yuffie was either mad, supremely confident that she would not get attacked or both as she confronted Vincent the way she did. He wondered if she counted herself lucky to be pushed out of the way because he certainly didn't.

Vincent's teeth sank deeply into his shoulder and Sephiroth cried out in pain, sinking to his knees under the attack. His sword dropped from his hand and clanged on the ground, leaving Sephiroth defenceless.

"Valen...tine..." he gasped out, grimacing in pain and glaring at the monster.

As the creature roared, Sephiroth readied himself to jump away. He got back to his feet a bit unsteadily and only succeeded in stumbling sideways as Chaos charged.

Oh, that jerk. Never listening to her, then he goes and bites... sure, she didn't try too hard to stifle the surge of satisfaction, but it wasn't like anyone expected her not to be vindictive. Then again, she was meant to be under the same truce, and this really was getting out of hand. Something was still keeping him from attacking a friend, even though he was glowing with the Limit and, you know, had just bitten Sephiroth. She was willing to let that go, but the fact remained that he had given her an advantage, and what kind of ninja was she if she let it slide?

In the short time it took her to work that out, and a few seconds before she could stop and remember what a bad idea it was, she was over to him again - Yuffie Kisaragi, best Vincent-catcher there is - and between him and Sephiroth.

"Sorry about this," she managed, before drawing her hand back like an angry snake and then slapping him as hard as she could; the sound of her palm connecting actually produced a sound loud enough to echo. She lowered her arm, but didn't step back or look any less determined.

Perfect! The silver one was weakening. Time to go in for the kill, if the alarming amount of blood splattering all over the concrete was any indication. Smirking devilishly, the red-cloaked man snarled and charged forward once more, claws extended...

Until something got in his path and hit him hard in the face.

In an almost dog-like whine, the ex-Turk went down hard, hitting the concrete with a solid thud and landing on his bad arm. Disoriented, confused, and overall dazed, the man attempted to pick himself up clumsily swaying from the effort. The crimson aura around him began to fade, though it was still lightly there. The metallic claw of the gauntlet scraped against the concrete, almost as if he were in pain, and he shook his head.

Through the red haze, he managed to make out a face. Female. Black hair. Weird clothes.

And a fan.

"Yu... ffie..." He managed, falling back to the ground gently and curling up in pain. "...wha.. t's... happen... ing?"

Despite the angry humiliation over the fact that he was apparently being saved by Yuffie of all people, Sephiroth had to give her credit for being courageous. He wasn't sure of anyone else who could just slap Chaos the way she just had.

And it seemed to have worked too. Vincent was becoming himself again. Just as well, because Sephiroth was not sure he could fight in his condition. Weakening from pain and blood loss, he sank to his knees, breathing harshly.

This was very far from what he had originally intended. Distracted Valentine, draw him back away from Genesis and avoid getting hit himself. That had been Sephiroth's plan. But here here he was, bleeding profusely from two wounds. If he did not receive help soon, there was a danger he would pass out - a phenomenally bad idea anywhere in Manhattan, never mind in front of someone having trouble regaining control of their humanity and was the cause of his injuries.

Nothing. Vincent had said it was nothing. Auron hadn't believed him then, and the entry Vincent had made not long after only validated his suspicions. The warrior hadn't even bothered to reply. There was no time for that. Whatever it was that was happening, it left no room for wait. He only read over the rest of the replies to learn where the red-cloaked man was headed.

Unfortunately, he had been waylaid by a few crabs on the way there. There were only a couple of them, and, as such, it didn't take him too long to dispatch them, but it was obvious by the time he had reached the small group that had surrounded what he could only assume was Vincent behind the red glow and pain.

Auron skidded to a halt as he approached them, looking between each of the individuals carefully. There was still a tension in the air, and because of that tension Auron kept up his guard. There was no telling if something would go wrong. Other than that, the swordsman remained silent. Either someone would explain or something would happen to explain. There was no need for him to ask.

He told her to stay away, but as far as Rinoa was concerned that had only been a suggestion from Vincent and she could decide whether she followed it or not, obviously she had decided not to plus she had told him that she was going anyway and she was never one to fail to a promise and she wasn't going to start now, not especially when she considered that a friend was in trouble and needed help and sincerely she really wasn't the type of person that wouldn't help a person that needed it.

The sorceress considered it a small blessing that on her way over she hadn't encountered a crab, because something told her that she was probably getting herself in something more serious and dangerous than simple crabs, which she pretty much confirmed when she arrived at the place and she could hardly believe what she was seeing, before grey eyes looked at the people that were in the place and she could only recognize Sephiroth, that looked badly wounded, before her eyes fell on which she concluded was Vincent.

"Hmm, so much for not needing help." Her voice was very soft and she wasn't sure if anyone had heard her, but she was sure that they will be aware of her presence and that someone might try to explain things to her, despite that the atmosphere was far from calm, the sorceress still tried to keep her composure, while at the least casting a small protect spell on herself just in case she was caught off guard.
