A big building. Lots of space. Opened to even more, corners and nooks and halls and rooms. Needles tubes tables, desks chairs more and more all for her to see. Books, lots of them. She didn't read them. She'd left that last one behind; heavy, worthless. Left it by the beds she'd found. It could stay there while she wandered. It wasn't going anywhere. And she didn't mind coming back to the beds, every now and then. In all this space, there was room to find another one, most like. That probably hadn't been one at all, it was too big.
Her foot still hurt. But it had been fixed. That was fine. She had acknowledged that she needed to keep off it. She didn't, actually, but that wasn't necessary. The idea of it was what mattered, was all.
Why would she be expected to keep off it that long, anyway? In such a big place, there was too much to explore to just sit. No, there was no rush, but these things had to be done, after all. For reasons.
Not very important reasons. Not even reasons she thought about often. But she had them.
