The sorceress was just a bit startled when she saw the man that had apparently been looking for her, one that she was sure she had NEVER seen because she was sure that she will remember someone that looked like him, she raised an eyebrow when he held out his hands to apparently show her that he was unharmed and while that might be the case, well she was sure that golden claw could easily slice through flesh but still she tried to keep her cool, however all of her uneasiness died at his statement.

"Ohh..." Now that was quite an intelligent statement from her part and she couldn’t help but blush a bit in embarrassment at that, well talking about first impressions she had quite apparently killed hers "That's right, do you want to come in?"

Rinoa brightly smiled at him trying to cover up her small flop. Should she find it weird that she was allowing a man she had never met in her room? In a normal circumstance she will have, but they weren't exactly in normal circumstances and it was good for her to know more people in this place anyway.

He didn't mind if she was a bit nervous. It was something he could attempt to work around and try to ease some with conversation. He truly meant her no harm if she didn't mean harm, and if it took awhile... well, so be it. She seemed friendly and shy enough to be trusted anyway.

But then again, so did that other girl... huh.

"If you don't mind." He replied politely, crimson eyes blank but somehow also looking... sincere. He wasn't sure how or why it happened. It just did. "I did promise you, after all. ...especially after my vanishing act there." Which hadn't even been his fault, so there was truly nothing to apologize for. If anything, he wanted to break free of his prison and just assure everyone to not panic over something to insignificant.

Now she was starting to feel a bit better, all of her nerves had started to slowly fade away since as far as she could tell he didn't exactly planned to harm her and she could trust that for the moment, besides the sincerity that she could see on his red eyes also aided to ease her a bit with being around him.

"Of course I don't, please come in." Slowly she moved to the side to allow him to get inside the suite "Well I appreciate that you kept your promise, as for your disappearing act..." Lightly she bit her lower lip while trying to think on what to say about that "...well you're alright now, right?"

It depended on her definition of 'alright', exactly. Was he alright physically? Sure. No more broken bones or injuries he could speak of. Sora's magic was a powerful thing, if it could have that kind of effect even in a city like this.

Mentally? Not so much. His inability to assist when people needed the help most was a heavy burden. So many close friends gone and lost in such a short time that... it was like his first arrival into this place.

He sat on a nearby couch. "...so-so." He replied honestly.

She silently closed the door after he had stepped inside, well no turning back now, he was inside now and well she had wanted to meet him and like he had promised he was here, well at least that could help her to trust him more, if he was so willing to fulfill a promise to someone he had never properly meet till now.

With a barely there wince the sorceress walked to the couch and sat beside him, she really didn't thought that would bring trouble or anything "So-so? What else is bothering you?"

Oh, where to begin. But this wasn't supposed to be a therapy session, oh no. He promised to come over for a friendly visit and not go on and on about his personal life, even if it did involve everyone else in a sense. He didn't flinch as she sat next to him, didn't protest. In a way, he welcomed the company after being trapped alone for such a long time. It was... pleasant.

"It's not anyone's concern." He said simply, easily keeping the guilt out of his tone. How could he, when emotions nowadays were so weak and fleeting? Becoming nothing but a hollow shell, a lifeless being inside... sometimes it had its advantages. Like keeping the truth from people. It made it easier. "I'm more concerned about how everyone else has been doing. I heard the city tore itself apart while I was away."

New monsters, new crabs, oragnizations...

Finally, some action.

She carefully listened to him and frowned just for a few seconds, before going back to her rather calm and welcoming expression, it was almost natural for her to be friendly and warm with people something that she hadn't been doing since she had arrived here and she actually was starting to like his company.

"Hmm, no one's concern..." Her voice was rather soft while she pondered those words over her head, that usually meant that people was closing up and keeping things to themselves, bottling things up she knew wasn't good "You know, sometimes talking helps to alleviate any weight that you feel over your shoulders and I wouldn't mind listening."

She really consider it was the least she could do to help in a place like this, she was always willing to help people and she didn't felt like if she had been doing so, but then again Vincent didn't trusted her and she was hoping to much for him to tell her anything but it didn't hurt to try.

"Well people seem to be trying to organize and there was this attack to one of the monsters, it had quite an erratic behavior afterwards and after that it hasn't been seen again." It was sad that she couldn't give much information because she wasn’t aware of most things "The crabs are also more resistant to attack and more willing to attack at any given chance..." The sorceress winced a bit at that remembering the encounter she had with them awhile ago "...that's all I know."

There was talking to alliviate problems, and there was whining endlessly to a person about something they didn't really care about in the first place. If there was one thing he didn't and would never do, it was whine and complain. He was not a child who wanted to go to the toy store but couldn't have their way. Sighing a bit, he thought the suggestion over.

Getting locked in that basement was turning out to be his own fault. Not being careful enough, and being idiotic enough to allow the crabs to overwhelm him down there. It was nothing short of a miracle that he'd suffered no bites at all, but it had only been a matter of time before he did. He grew weak, he was helpless... he hadn't faced this at all after dying the first time. Especially here, he needed to work on his own endurance if any of his abilities were sealed.

"I know about the crabs, at least." The red-cloaked man nodded once. "They almost killed me down there. It just... they changed. I... was having trouble taking them out."

There. He'd said it.

So what was bothering him or at last part of what was bothering him was a perception of being weak, considering how he had expressed about his encounter with the crabs wherever he had been trapped in, it must have been a surprise to see the new crabs and to realize that they were stronger than before, that it took a lot to take them down now, it was the same feeling she had gotten when she had first encountered them after she had finally willed herself to go out.

In a deeper way Rinoa could understand him a lot, that feeling of being weak was something that she had felt a lot while being in this place, most of her abilities had been toned down leaving her with a great disadvantage than what she was used to, it made her feel vulnerable and worse useless, she felt as if she couldn't help anyone even if she wanted to do so, maybe she felt even worse than Vincent because he at least was trying to help others while she was just hiding away not knowing what to do.

"I know, but still you managed to do it and got out, you might have been wounded but you still had enough strength in your spirit to refuse to die there, to be able to return and now try to find a way to help around in this place."

A small smile appeared on her face after saying that, those were qualities that she was currently lacking, if Zone and the others could see her now...if Squall could see her...they will be disappointed on her.

He bowed his head slightly at her words, thinking them over. Strange, that despite what had happened, what had been happening, that he never wanted to die in such a pathetic manner. It had been dangerous, and grueling, but the only thing that had been flowing through his mind was finding a way out. And he did. ...even if it did end up with him being kicked by a blind kid and one pretending to play doctor. At least he had been alive.

But therein laid the question; what now? He survived, got back into the city... but what could he possibly do to help? He had been more of a use killing crabs in the basement than in the above world, though he supposed he could do the same here. Patrols and such. He had missed out on so much that he wasn't sure where he even was anymore...

He sighed, running a gauntleted hand through his long locks, trying to figure this all out. "I... still have to wonder how I did it, despite everything I said to you guys." Some of it had been lies, but still. "Maybe... it was just primal nature to keep on living."

Primal nature... no, that wasn't it.

...was it?

She looked at him for a few seconds while trying to put into words what she had in her mind, it will be so much easier if he could read her mind or something since it will save her from trying to put into words her ideas in case she didn't made it sound right, finally she sighed just a bit and decided to give it a go.

"Well I think every living being posses a primal nature to stay alive, it's like an instinct that seems to kick in during particular situations, and it's something that's already there I suppose, but people also need to have a will to live." And she truthfully believed that it was the case, as odd as it sounded "What's the point in having the nature but not the will or wish to stay alive?"

Maybe she was making no sense at all, but she had seen people dying and not because they lacked the instinct, the primal nature to fight to survive, they had merely lacked the will to stay alive, they had lost the fight even before starting it and had merely allowed themselves to die, something that she understood when she was left in space and she had refused to die there, she wanted to keep living.

"While you have the nature in that moment, I also think that you wanted to keep living, maybe for a particular person or you just refused to die in such a way, that's something that only you will know." Slowly she dared to place a hand on his shoulder "Maybe right now you might wonder what you're supposed to do now, but I'm sure that answer will come eventually and well if you need help in anyway, I will be glad to help you in any way that I can."

"Nature and will work as one." He shrugged a little, taking his hand away from his hair and leaning back onto the couch. "Instinct works as a thought. A thought that just comes naturally. Sometimes the will simply breaks, overrides, and almost manipulates natural instincts. Most people just call this insanity. Or brainwashing, depending on the situation." He knew he was probably making less sense than her, but it was the best explaination he knew to give. Killing Omega was mostly on impulse, without even thinking about what he was doing in the heat of the moment. That, and he had been insane ever since escaping from Hojo.

But... a particular reason to keep living? Here? Lucrecia, Loz, Yazoo, and so many others... they were all gone. Not here and unable to watch and protect them. Sephiroth still was, but...

He wanted to protect him? Maybe Tifa had been right all along...

And what if they hadn't gone home? What if they were still in the city, trapped somewhere and unable to contact the outside world? She might still need him. This world needed him.

"I... still do need to protect some people." He mumbled quietly, before turning to the other woman once more. "But... you barely know me. Why would you want to help someone who could possibly turn on you?" Not that he would, but.

A small sigh escaped her lips "I suppose it's something that will depend on the situation and the person." Slowly she pushed a strand of inky black hair behind her ear, her eyes now fixed on her lap "Everyone is different and might react in different ways I suppose, while some might have a strong will, there are others that might be completely driven by instinct alone."

That made Rinoa think for a bit if the corruption of the sorceress power also varied from sorceress to sorceress, maybe some where more susceptible to become evil than others and she wondered how long the sorceress without knights managed to last before breaking down and turn evil? How much time did she have before she went down the same path?

Going down that line of thoughts always bothered and made her uncomfortable, she pretty much depended on keeping her will, soul, heart and mind strong to stay alive and to keep existing but it was also to keep everyone safe, either here or back in her home world and she was not going to fail.

"Well, Vincent, you have friends, people that you care about, it might not only be a matter of need but also one of wanting to protect them." Carefully she turned to look at him, a small sad smile on her face "...Why are you here? Promise or not, you don't know me either and yet you are here, how did you know this wasn't a trap of some sort?"

A strong will would've changed his situation entirely. A strong will would have made him and everyone else better. Nobody would have had to suffer. And yet here he was. He wasn't a strong person, couldn't even begin to be despite what had recently happened. It was just a shitty way to die in this place.

Or did he just want himself to believe that?

He struggled with it everyday, how... different things could have been if he had made a difference in changing Sephiroth's life for the better. A way for him to have been born and not corrupted by an alien virus... a way of saving Lucrecia from destroying herself. He knew the answer to calming his frustrations at least; wait until Hojo showed up and snap his neck. That was all.

Losing himself in his own thoughts again, he quickly turned back to the brunette when he realized she was speaking to him. His mind immediately went back to some of the others who had said the same in return. Needing to, wanting to... the one instance where the two defintions were the same. But for others to put themselves at risk for him? He wouldn't tolerate that.

"I can just... tell." He replied quietly, looking down at the plush couch. "There's something about you, something that told me to come despite having just met you. It's strange."

She pondered on the answer for a bit, her eyes looking at him for a few seconds before a small smile appeared on her face "Something about me?" Her voice echoed softly, remembering that Zone had once told her something along the same lines, when she had asked him why he had trusted her to join the Timber Owls despite her family history "It's not that strange."

And it really wasn't, some people seemed to judge her most of the times based on her appearance and think that she wouldn't be able to hurt anyone and thus trust her, but her closest friends hadn't allowed appearances to lead their judgment of her especially the ones from the Timber Owls and the Garden, she had after all been a girl that had betrayed her father and government, they had seen beyond that to trust her and that was what had made her appreciate them all the more.

"To answer your question, I offer to help you because my heart tells me that I can trust you, I can't explain it exactly but I realized it when you came to see me." With a small sigh she leaned against the couch, gazing at a random spot ahead of her "If I'm wrong and you turn against me, which I hope that you won't, well I will take my chances."

She was being sincere and she was sure her tone showed that just like it hinted that she had still wanted to say more but she didn't, it was a bit shameful to admit that his presence had made her feel less lonely and that his company was more than welcome for her since she didn't know a lot of people in this place.

Turn against her? He had no reason to. She wasn't with Deepground, she wasn't with ShinRa, she wasn't with any organization trying to put this world down... betrayal was the worst thing anyone could do in a place like this, and they both knew it. Turning back to her slightly, he nodded once at her words, taking them to heart. ...or, as best as he could.

"I did owe you." He replied, sounding a bit amused. Owed her and ran off to nearly die. He definately had to make up for that happening. "What kind of a person would I be if I just broke a promise?"

A monster.

A freak

Too much backstabbing in the past. Far too much, and he was fed up with it. "You're very soft-spoken. Patient. I can talk to you easily, somehow, and you do remind me of a couple people with all this talk of trust and whatnot." Home, and in the city. His own friends and the friends he made... it seemed strange to think it had all happened in the span of nearly four years now. All of these people...

The world changes in strange ways.
