Meeting of the Minds [Active/Closed]
Characters: Daniel Jackson, Aya Brea, Chao, The Doctor, Harry Dresden
Content: Five individuals come together to try and brainstorm the best theories that might explain where they all are and what was behind the events at the river crossing.
Location: 16th Precinct
Time of day: Early evening, day after the River Crossing attempt

Daniel Jackson checked the television and DVD player set up in the meeting room at the Precinct for the twelfth time, mainly for the need to move around. He got jittery when he was agitated, and after the events of the day before, he was certainly still feeling a little agitated. He knew Aya had to be, as well; she naturally had been here before him, and he could tell that the experience had affected her as hard as or harder than him. Hopefully this evening, they would be able to come up with some more solid ideas of what they had gotten into. And how to beat it.
As the others showed up - Harry Dresden, Chao Lingshen, and the Doctor - he pushed his nervousness to the side, effectively transforming into the calm, professional exterior that served him well anytime he had to make a presentation to his team at Stargate Command. Really, this was no different than any one of those occasions, and he would treat it as such. Since the meeting had been his idea, he knew he would be expected to take point until the actual discussion took place. Then it was everyone’s game.
“Thank you all for coming,” the archeologist said as everyone took their seats. He stood next to the television set (donated by Aya, of course), the remote in one hand. “Well, in case I or Aya didn’t make it clear, we’re here to look at the evidence of what happened yesterday and try to figure out what is going on around here. Everyone here has some sort of experience in a field that might be helpful in working out which theories make the most sense - and which ones we can eliminate.” Half-turning to the set, he clicked it on with the remote. A still screen of the boat team appeared to reveal Daniel’s video footage, paused at the beginning. “I was thinking we should all run through the video I took of the event before we start, in case anyone spots anything that could be helpful. We can re-watch it as many times as we need to.”
Looking up, he glanced around to make sure no one had anything they wanted to add, and then said finally, “Let’s get started, then.” He pressed Play and took his seat. Aya flicked off the lights for them as the recording rolled.
When the video was over and the lights turned back on, Daniel turned back to the table they were all seated around. Propping his elbows on the table, he opened both hands in a welcoming gesture and said, “Floor’s open, people. What have we got?”
Almost as an afterthought, he said, “In case we don’t all know each other, I’m Daniel Jackson. I have experience with virtual and alternate realities that might be of some help.” He managed a lighthearted grin and added, “Plus I brought the tape.”
