The stairwells, halls and rooms all had a familiar feel to them and Kairi's heart swelled with a strange nostalgia. She knew she'd been here before, but with every turn she had to check where she was. Eventually she hesitated in front of a door and went to unlatch it.
A room that felt like home opened up before her, one decorated with light blues and lavenders. Though mostly clean, it looked like someone had going through her belongings. Her bed was partially undone and a drawer or two was left open. In fact, save one, her underwear drawer, all the drawers and cabinets were open at least a crack. "...Was someone looking for something?" Carefully she examined everything, but aside from being disheveled, nothing seemed to be missing. Though she knew full well if something were missing, she might not remember it.
Kairi sighed a little and left her room, walking down the hallway. A few doors down, she suddenly stopped. "...Sora's room. I'm sure of it." Wanting to know what happened or at last talk it out, she knocked on the door. "Sora? Sora, it's me." She knocked again and put her hands behind her back, ready to see him again. After a minute of hearing nothing, Kairi tried one last time. "Are you asleep already?" she teased. But again, there was no response.
She leaned against the frame and pulled a lock of hair behind her ear. "He and Riku must be on patrol." Sliding down until she was sitting comfortably, the girl hugged her legs to herself and began to wait. However, the fatigue from earlier still lingered and that combined with the late hour made her head grow heavy. Much as she tried not to, Kairi slipped into sleep.
