Characters: Larxene and Marluxia Content: Plotting~ Location: Marluxia's secret lair please ignore the neon signs on top Time of Day: Mid-morning. Warnings: Evil.
Marluxia settled himself in the armchair, leaning over to a box full of bottles on the floor. "Drink?" He asked Larxene, getting for himself a half-drunk bottle of pinot noir. He could explain what he was thinking after what was mannerly had been observed.
Whatever it was she was reading, there was no concentrating on it. Not worth the time, apparently. Terrible book. Larxene tossed it to the nearest table and smiled over at her accomplice. "Surprise me."
"Very well," He said and tossed her a corkscrew and a bottle of zinfandel, trusting that she would catch them. He leaned back in his chair, eyes closed, thinking, before taking a drink and speaking.
"The situation here grows increasingly intolerable, Larxene," He said. "Between the normals, the monsters, and the rest of the company...It is not to be borne. The most egregious loss, however," He said, face growing more serious, "Is that of our abilities. Of what makes us superior."
She caught both easily, and had the bottle open in a matter of seconds. A habit long ago gained, and never forgotten. The first sip was careful, a slow test. It was a delicious wine, but she hadn't expected anything less from Marluxia.
Gloved fingers came up to her face as Marluxia spoke. How many weeks ago had it been that the little bastard child had somehow been able to smash her face in with a simple board? No, she certainly wasn't about to forget that. "From what I've experienced, I have found no way to get them entirely back." Larxene grimaced. What an unfortunate truth. "I have, however, been mulling over the idea of amplifying a power through something. Weak, perhaps, and requiring more acknowledgment that this city can hold me than I like, but if it will get me off of this putrid excuse for an island..."
Marluxia nodded. "That is a possibility--especially for you, given the nature of your power. As for me, the cycle is turning back, it is my time again...perfect for what I plan." He leaned forward in his chair. "Many have tried to get off the island, to destroy the monsters, as we are now. But with our strength back, for you and me to leave would be a fait accompli."
Grimace fading slowly, Larxene glanced to her partner. She stretched a hand out in front of her, a small spark playing between her fingers. So many things she could manipulate to magnify her own powers, and with the nature of spring...
He nodded. "The first thing," Marluxia said, his tone businesslike, "Is to find out more about what those who call themselves the 'good guys' have uncovered about our prison. I can't imagine they'd be willing to share, but--" here he smiled. "There are ways around that."
Absently, Larxene counted possibilities away on her fingers. Seduction. Threats. Theft. So many nice little ways to get information, so little time.
There was the matter of Sora, as well. "I'm sure a certain keyblade wielder won't let anyone be fooled too easily."
They could always just go in, take what they needed, and kill anyone in the way. Maybe a little too messy, given they were trapped on an island. Death of one only upset another. Larxene doubted they had that much time to devote to relocating every few days.
She was less known than he, though. If they could trick one of them, without the knowledge of Sora or one of his little pals, things could certainly be simpler.
It would take a lot of planning, no matter the route. They had some time. Just needed to use it wisely.
