Time of Day: Mid-morning

The day was well-underway when Naoki set out for the Latham Hotel. It was rather strange to be doing this, what with the stronger, angrier crabs roaming the streets and all. Safety seemed like it should have been a much higher priority than anything else.
He had to smirk at that. He wasn't safe even in his home, so why bother?
With hands in his hooded vest's pockets, he looked back and forth, his senses attuned to any approaching creatures, friendly or otherwise. It was only a matter of time at this rate. Alone, weaponless, moving at a casual pace. There was a method to his madness, however.
The Rules of the Situation:
- Conserve your energy for the fight.
- Use the terrain to your advantage.
- Fight defensively until meeting Riza at the rendezvous point.
A flicker of motion alerted Naoki before the screech as a trio of crabs barreled towards him, slavering at the thought of tearing him open. Without even risking a Divine Shot, Naoki nodded to himself and began to run, channeling yoki into his legs to increase his speed. Sure, the crabs were faster, but he was counting on them to get close.
He had to remember to thank Boriane for her excellent tutelage later. A lot of this depended on her.
First one, a jump high. Sweeping his hand around and up, he summoned his yoki sword and struck it a blow that...barely swayed it, though just enough that it missed its charge. The other two lunged just as he spun and darted to the side, a second sword lancing out and shoving one against the other, causing them to stumble. With that as his opportunity, he sprinted towards the rendezvous point, his pursuers hot on his heels. Whenever they got too close, a burst of yoki to his legs or a quick warding slash with his sword kept them away.
The point seemed so far away at this point.
