Negi couldn't believe he'd forgotten about this technique until now. Granted, he hadn't used it since the field trip to Kyoto. It was a good thing he had a fairly decent memory for magic. He had to make his own paper dolls, of course. It was during the process that he remembered Pika's message.
Take someone with you if you plan to investigate far.
Negi made enough dolls to allow for some mistakes and grabbed some markers. It was time to get to work. He made sure to contact both Megan and Harry as he left, they were the first two magic users he could think of who were in the Strand. Harry would be especially useful since he might know what to look for. "I need your help," he'd told them, before heading outside, not even stopping to see if they were coming.
He stopped a good distance from the subway and then turned to Megan and Harry, "I have a plan to both confirm what Pika saw in the subways and maybe get some samples, but if we get samples I'll need your help. It's a technique I learned back home that's really simple and that I can teach you really quickly."
