Sora was miserable. Roxas knew it as surely as he knew he was miserable - he knew, in his mind, that he was disappointed that Kairi was gone, because he had sort of liked Kairi and he didn't like to know that Sora would be sad, but he knew that, if Sora hadn't been here, he would have been briefly disappointed and moved on.
But Sora was here, and his sadness was overwhelming. Some part of Roxas wanted to go to him, to try to console him, but it was a very small part and it was obvious it was losing: Roxas was already in the hotel lobby, heading for the exit, hurried, anxious - like someone trying to escape from something.
He knew Sora needed him, but Roxas didn't need this. Sora had other people, anyway. Roxas could come back, when it was better, when other people had made his Somebody happy again. Sora's emotions were more than he could cope with right now.
