Characters: Black★Star and Aerith Content: Expert Assassin needs a healing touch. Location: Bryant Park Hotel Time of day: Afternoon Warnings: Black★Star
Aerith had been down in the lobby for most of the morning and part of the early afternoon relaxing with a cup of tea. It had been several days since she'd returned from the other island and for the most part, she'd been keeping low and resting. Her abilities had only recently begun to return, though for some reason she was still tired. She attributed that to the fact that she'd been completely drained while she'd been asleep on that island.
Regardless, she was feeling better now than she had been, so she'd taken to enjoying the couch in the lobby, which was where she was when someone walked into the area. She glanced up to see who it was and immediately placed her cup on the table as she stood up to move to his side.
"You're hurt," she commented, not needing anyone to tell her that. "What happened? I may be able to help."
"It's nothing," Black★Star stated, he wasn't fooling anyone but his inability to heal properly was not the first thing on his mind, "I'm fine, just looking for a blond lady with a really stuffy outfit and attitude."
Regardless of the fact that Aerith wasn't the best at physical strength, particularly not at the moment, she frowned and moved closer, hoping to stop him if he tried to move past.
"You aren't fine," she stated calmly. "You're hurt. I'm a healer. I can do something about that in a matter of minutes and then you can be on your way."
"It'll heal on its own, it's just taking longer," Black★Star refused to believe he was so weak he needed more then the basics of medical care to heal. "Just a fever and flu... I'll go away on its own."
Despite his words about how he was fine, he didn't try to push past her, "So have you seen the stuffy blond lady?"
Aerith's frown deepened at the list of symptoms. Those together weren't usually found together unless under a certain circumstance. She eyed the bandages and the rest of his appearance, coming to a conclusion soon after.
"You're not sick. You were bitten, weren't you?" she asked, though the strength of her tone said she knew what had happened whether or not he would admit it. "That needs to be healed. I'll tell answer your question after you let me help."
Black★Star frowned at this, the crabs were that dangerous. "Yeah, so?" Crabs were everywhere, if being bitten was so dangerous then why weren't more people dying like this? Weird.
If she could heal crab bites, and crab bites were really dangerous... "Can you heal two people?"
Aerith paused at his request, blinking a little before responding. She hadn't expected it to be this easy to convince him what with how insistent he had been on leaving.
"I... should be able to by now, but I'll need to rest afterwards and I'll have to ask you to try not to mention it on the network. It's... dangerous to say too much."
Dangerous for all involved and she didn't want to risk anyone else being hurt because of who she was.
"Cause me and my friend were both bitten," Black★Star paused, "So if you can heal both of us that's cool, but she needs healing more than I do."
Black★Star knew his partner was strong, but he was much better at taking a beating and keeping active, she'd need the healing more than he would. So if he was this bad, she definitely needed healing.
Although Black★Star did doubt his ability to get back to the Apartments right now. He also wondered what made healing a big secret, but if that's what it took to heal Tsubaki, whatever! ★
Aerith paused for a moment, turning over her options before she answered. "I may be able to send someone else with you to help her in case I can't yet," she replied finally. "I might not be able to go anywhere after I've healed you. I haven't tried since I got back, so I'm not sure..."
She paused again, thinking of all of the people who had been captured with her on the other island. Maybe one of them could help this boy's friend if she couldn't.
"I do know others with this ability, and I'm sure one of them would be glad to help."
She reached out to try to take his arm. "It won't hurt, but it'll feel weird."
I suppose that will have to do, he couldn't ask her to go heal Tsubaki. Mostly because he can't lead her or the other person there in this state. So he would have to take this even if he rather Tsubaki were healed now and he healed later.
He didn't move away or flinch, or show any reaction to her reaching out, "I'm used to weird. But promise without fail someone will heal her."
Aerith would have understood completely had Black Star voiced his concerns. However, as it was, she had to insist that he let her heal him now, and she was glad to see that he'd finally agreed. She did pause, though, as her hand made contact with his arm.
"You have my word. Even if I have to wait a day or two to regain my strength, she will get healed
( ... )
Black★Star was worried that Tsubaki wouldn't get healed. However if he was healed he could make sure Tsubaki got better! He'd be back to his slightly old self able to do things and be useful!
Okay, that felt different, not bad different, or good different. It wasn't like the pleasure of a good meal, or the pain of a hard day's fight. Just different. He checked the wounds, they were gone, so was his fever. "YOO-HOO!" Black★Star jumped into the air a good few feet, landed, and promptly fell on his butt. He made a note to not try leaping into the air right after healing next time, give himself time to recover his legs and all.
"Thank you! Great," he completely missed her needing to sit down, and just figured she wanted a seat. "So so, have you seen the stuffy Blond lady and when can Tsubaki get healed!?" Back to business.
Aerith couldn't help the smile and soft chuckle that found their way past her features at the sight of Black Star attempting to jump around like normal. She'd been able to help as much as she could, but he'd still need a little rest afterward. At least she could tell that she'd been able to do it at all.
"I haven't seen a blonde lady today," she answered carefully. "Tell me what she wears and I'll look for her. Does she have a name?
"I don't think I can heal Tsubaki right now, but I'll let you know either today or tomorrow when I can or if someone I know can. It'll probably be vague, but I'll mention her name to let you know, all right?"
Black★Star thought a moment, she had a name, even if he didn't get properly introduced to her he did know it. "Kon... ishi? I think, she wears really uptight lame stuff," Yeah, something like that.
"Huh... okay. I'll be on the lookout for it..." Subtle stuff wasn't his thing, that was for lame bookworms like Maka, but he could keep quiet on this, it was for Tsubaki, that was important enough that even his greatness can be put to the side for now. He did need to find a computer to use, he didn't exactly take his when he left for here. He should probably check in on the apartments, and make sure they are all okay. Well, Tsubaki and Soul anyway.
Somehow the name sounded familiar. Aerith made a mental note to look into it. "I'll keep an eye out for her," she assured him. "Don't worry about Tsubaki. She'll be fine."
While Aerith had never actually been hurt, she knew several people who had been and she'd seen what severe bites could do. If she could prevent that kind of pain, she'd be more than happy to do so.
"Oh, if you need anything else, just ask for Aerith, all right? That's my name and I'd be happy to help."
How, how did he forget to introduce himself in all that. Okay, fever, bleeding, sickness, distraction, and otherwise being unwell, but still. He forgot to introduce himself!
Black★Star struck a rather silly pose, using a sharpie like a microphone, "I AM THE GREAT BLACK★STAR! FEARED ASSASSIN ON HIS WAY TO SURPASSING GOD! BEFORE THIS SLIGHT HICCUP I WAS QUITE CLOSE TO THIS MIRACULOUS FEAT!" As he spoke the air around him sparkled without any obvious source or cause.
