They didn't have much in the way of time. The hastily thrown together meeting had used a lot, but plans had managed to come together. Laharl wasn't displeased. He was a bit surprised as many showed up as they had. Etna had done a good job.

Heading to the south, they hoped to get the chance to use this boat this one girl had to try to get to one of the smaller islands. The problem with this was it all hinged on the group in Central Park. With so many heading there, he hoped both monsters would make an appearance. They should, right?

As long as they did, the short trip to Governor's Island should be possible. It was a chance they might not get again.

Anxiously Laharl glanced back towards the city, wondering how things were going. Part of him wished he had gone there, but he was still pretty sure going to Central Park wouldn't find Flonne. She was out there... somewhere.

Glancing to Kaylee, who'd supplied not only the boat but radios, he spoke up. "Oi... so, anything yet?" Referring to Central Park's progress, of course.

Kaylee was still tired from what had apparently been a very busy weekend--it was too bad she didn't have an inkling of a clue what she'd been working on. The only reasons she'd convinced herself to come out at this point were the need for radios, the hope that they'd find Bill and Garnet, and the small fact that there was no way she was going to let that boat even out of her sight without herself or Goofy on board. Oh, no, not her baby.

While checking the boat over to make sure everything was in order, Kaylee had been keeping an ear on the radio. Things were certainly going down...

"Only heard 'bout one monster. Seems the other ain't in sight at all."

"A fine bit of luck so far, I'd say," Balthier quipped, tapping his gun against his shoulder as he kept an eye out for any uninvited guests. He was a little irritated at being separated from his partner, but he understood the reasoning behind it. He and Fran would have to discuss the events of this excursion later, he supposed. In the meantime, he'd try and make the best of the situation. After all, it was better if he came back with a good story to tell, wasn't it?

The pirate's usual smirk found its way onto his face as he looked over his shoulder back at them. "Let's just hope it stays as it is, hm?"

"Hopefully luck holds out and the other one won't show up," Simon added, in a voice that didn't exactly convey his confidence in this idea. Things always tended to go wrong, at least when it was the captain he was following. Maybe without him around, they'd be luckier than usual.

Not that he was going to take any chances. Simon had his bag in hand, full of all the first-aid supplies he could take in hopes of being prepared for anything.

Almost anything, at least.

Etna leaned back against the side of the dock, making an impatient noise as she checked to make sure her gun was loaded for the third time, before sliding it back into its holster and readjusting her spear against her shoulder. She was a demon of action, and all this waiting was grating on her.

Still, Laharl might have been surprised by how little complaining he was getting out of her. Part of it was her willingness to put up with something if it meant making whoever took Flonne pay, and the other part was that she honestly was impressed with Laharl's initiative, and she wanted to show her support.

That didn't keep her from finally muttering, "Just wish the damn thing would show already so we can get started.

Rosette, on the other hand, was nervous as hell about this entire thing. She'd floated a raft off the island before - unmanned, of course - and it was pretty difficult to forget what had happened to it. The monster had had a little snack, and that was when there was just one monster. The chance that one of them was in the water was huge, but it was one she didn't want to take - no sense in getting killed trying to find people, nevermind how much they all wanted to find them.

"Just as long as it doesn't show up here."
