After they'd finished making the fudge, Fletcher had been extremely busy. He and Russel had mostly cleaned up the library from the various disasters that had befallen it, but there was still clutter and debris scattered around. Luckily by Saturday they'd managed to make the place presentable. Except for the bookshelf still on its side in the science section, it looked almost as good as it had on May 21, 2008.
The two cooks sat behind the front counter, but they weren't checking books out to anyone. On the desk in front of them was a platter of fudge, and they had some more behind the counter in case it ran empty. They sincerely hoped that someone responded to the message they'd left in the digest; people around this city needed some holiday cheer, and what better sort for Valentine's Day than chocolate?
