Another minute would pass before Euphie appeared, slightly out of breath from running directly for the kitchen. "I'm sorry I'm late!" Was the first thing she said after taking a moment to catch her breath. She straightened, giving him a bright smile, confirming everything was alright. "Everything went smoothly as planned!"
When Euphie came running in, Hamel took a few steps back to give her room. He wanted to immediately ask her, but instead chose to lean in a little and watch her catch breath. When she straightened, he did the same and couldn't help but smile back at Euphie.
That didn't last long though and he quickly turned away, making a mild scoffing sound in approval. "Like I said it would..now on to setting up for tomorrow...."
Hamel stared at the chocolate again, still quite unsure how to get started.
She giggled softly at his reaction, smiling knowingly at his back.
"Homemade Chocolate, right?" She asked, peering over his shoulder. "I think I remember how this... It has been a while though" Never mind that she had only watched the cooks make it while she hung around in the kitchen and had never done it herself.
"We'll need a knife and a cutting board for now." She said, before moving into the kitchen, gathering tools. "To cut and break the chocolates into much smaller pieces before heating it up."
Hamel tilted his head up at hearing her. She knew how to make these? Well, of course she knew, Women tend to know how to cook. Hamel took a step a side to let Euphie work, though did manage to make himself useful by grabbing the cutting board for her.
Unsure what to do afterward, the violinist simply set the board down on the counter and observed.
A few minutes later, a small amount of the chocolates had been chopped up into rather uneven jumbled chunks. Euphie frowned at it, realizing it didn't quite come out like what she remembered it to.
"I think this should be enough to do a sample batch." She told Hamel, removing one of the smaller pots from where they hung. "I don't want to accidentally ruin all of the chocolate."
Glancing around, she noticed one ingredient missing. "Do you think we have any type of cream?"
Hamel just blinked at the chops Euphie gave to the chocolate. He was no expert, but they certainly looked uneven to him. Maybe that was because Chocolate had to be cut a certain away or something, just like Giant earthworms had to be cut properly to be edible. Did that mean Chocolate had a poisonous part to it too? That sounds really silly, but then again, Hamel never made chocolate before.
It took a minute for Hamel to register Euphie's words. Shaking his head to clear it up, hamel moved toward a shelf to grab what she asked.
Euphie glanced at the container and nodded at it, recognizing it as something similar to what she remembered. "It should work fine."
Wasting no time, the cream was taken and heated before poured over the chocolate chunks. "It shouldn't be long now." She said, stirring the mixture gently. "Once it's all melted down, we can start shaping it with the the cookie molds I just found." The chocolate was melting smoothly and she gave a soft sigh of relief. For a while, she hadn't been sure if her cutting would cause a problem or not.
Hamel watched with a mix of wonderment and interest. It looks so easy from merely observing it. In fact, Hamel probably could have done this on his own without the help of his new worker.
While Euphie mixed the chocolate, Hamel looked up at the pink-haired girl. He didn't even know much about her besides the fact that she was pretty appealing to the eye. Maybe he should at least ask for a name?
"Ah, umm...thank you for helping me out with this." He paused and scratched his chin as he wondered what else he could say. "..and for delivering these gifts."
It was rather easy, the ones she doing. If Euphie had been making Truffles like she thought she might, things would have been much more....messy.
"You're welcome." She replied, concentrating on the last bits of the unmelted chocolate. Her arms were getting slightly tired now, unused to doing tasks like this. A few more stirs did the trick and she sighed in relief, rolling out her stiff shoulder. "I'm glad to help really."
