Simon wasn't expecting much from the facility. It wasn't that there was any doubt on his part about Rebecca Chamber's abilities as a medic (he had never met or worked with her before, at least in his memory, and therefore had no basis to judge her qualities), rather that no one could expect much in the way of up-to-date equipment and well-stocked medical supplies in a refugee city cut off from the rest of the world. But he'd done work on outer rim before, and plenty of work on the Serenity, which, while decently supplied, was certainly no Core hospital, so he was perfectly willing to make do with what was available.
Entering the clinic, he called out for its medic. "Ms. Chambers?"
Rebecca emerged from one of the converted bedrooms at the sound of her name, smiling a little as she shifted a clipboard in her hands and strode towards Simon.
"Dr. Tam," she greeted him, extending a hand to him to shake. It was weird, meeting him for the second time, when she knew for him this was his first, but she'd seen similar things happen with Tifa's friend Cloud, so it was just one of those things that happened in this place, sometimes.
"Ms. Chambers." Simon took the hand she offered and gave it a firm shake. As far as he was concerned, this was their first meeting, though of course they'd spoken over the network. "I hope you don't mind my intrusion. I can't treat patients at the automotive shop and I can't run a hospital by myself. This seems like a fair compromise."
"Of course. We'd actually be more than happy to have a few more doctors with surgical experience around. I've been trying to pick up people to help out, but we're sort've perpetually short-staffed." She smiled a little sheepishly, glancing around the room they stood in.
"It's not much obviously, but we were in kind of a pinch when we set it up, and it's kind of hard to relocate heavy equipment. Still, it's...effective." She wouldn't be completely abject to relocating, but she still had some people recovering, and it was convenient having her workplace so close by.
