Vyers frowned at his computer, more than a little annoyed by the recent turn of events. The message bothered him, as did the sudden, loud screams that suddenly tore through the air afterward. Part of him wanted to investigate matters further, but he knew it would only end in disaster ( ... )

Evangeline glanced at the doorway as her housemate walked out, "Well, its such a wonderful night. The city in darkness, the monster serenading us, why be cooped up indoors. Well, maybe if you're a human and will freeze to death." She was grinning, it seemed she really was enjoying this situation. At least a little bit.

She had a wine glass in her hand, spinning the red drink in it, "A night picnic is a good use of this time." She poured another glass and held it out to the demon, with a grin. Something about a pitch-black night seemed to calm the little girl, even with the din in the background.

He would hardly call that atrocious noise music, much less a serenade, but to each their own. The night did seem quite nice, though. Vyers placed a hand on his hip and shifted his weight as he took in the view. Very nice indeed.

He took the glass with a grin of his own, sampling the wine and looking pleased with the taste. "Ah, an excellent idea if I ever heard one, mademoiselle. And such wonderful things to take along!" Even if she could have at least brought another chair. Hmmm... Perhaps he could talk her into letting him have it.

There was a soft noise on the roof behind them, as a young person with long azure hair and three large feathered white wings touched down on top of the building, bending forward slightly as he stopped to catch his breath.

He was short and slight, no older than 16 if he had been a human, and dressed in a manner befitting of a teenager in the Japanese punk scene, in chunky platform heels and leather.

The look he gave them, when he raised his head, suggested that landing in the middle of a picnic of demons, as it were, was not something he had planned for that particular moment.

He stood up straight and looked at them, still a little out of breath. "Hello," he said, with a smile that held a little bit of fear, and a little bit of menace.

Evangeline sipped her own wine, "Of course the serenade of the monster would work better if the monster could carry a tune in a bucket and wasn't apparently tone deaf. However other than that being out here is a nice way to spend the darkest of night." While Evangeline was being a bit playful with her words and actions, her mind was working. The city was dark, with that she means there's no light anywhere, including the other shores. Usually its like starlight on the horizon but a completely black city? That was a very interesting thing to work with. Whatever caused it was more than just messing with the island ( ... )

Ah, so she had other things with her? He supposed it was too much to ask for a chair (for now), but he did hope he would get something softer than the cold, hard roof of a building.

Vyers stood a little straighter as he heard someone land nearby, and looked over as he addressed them. He looked surprised, his eyebrows shooting upward for half a second before he schooled his expression once again. He had noticed the wings immediately--an angel? He wasn't aware there were any in this place, though he had never seen an angel wearing something like that before. It looked more to be something a demon would wear.

His hand moved from his hip to his chin as he regarded the new arrival and he affected the usual arrogance (perhaps even moreso than he usually did). "Ah!" he cried. "It is not often one comes across an angel in such a place. How fascinating indeed!" He chuckled before cocking his head to the side curiously. "And what brings you to our humble rooftop, good sir? Are you lost, as the mademoiselle says?"

"Lost? No, I only meant to rest here before I moved on. I just didn't feel your auras until I got close."

He looked down at the rooftop, a smile creeping onto his face. "Did I disturb you? You aren't humans, are you? That powerful negative energy... ... it's almost comforting... Makes me think of a pet I left behind."

He looked up at them again, blinking, as though the thought had just occurred to him. "Oh. I'm Rosiel," he said.

Evangeline handed a few blankets to Vyers, he could wrap up in them or sit on them, not her issue. She was listening to the angel that landed on her roof as she moved, "Pretty sharp there. Then again we're sitting on a roof in a cold dark night having a picnic while a monster roars in the background. Not much of this is standard for human." Evangeline did not plan for another visitor, so she lacked a glass for him. But she wasn't sure she wanted to share her wine with an angel anyway. Especially talking about keeping a creature of darkness as a pet, that seemed entirely backwards ( ... )

A pet? How very strange! Though he supposed this fellow could have found a hellkitty or a dog wandering about somewhere. He had heard the first made good pets, though he always had had the feeling that there was something sinister behind their adorable looks. Something more sinister than usual for a demon, in any case. Perhaps it was mere paranoia, but he could swear there were more than one out there who looked to be plotting against him.

But he was getting off track.

Vyers swept low, his wings spreading grandly behind him (though he was careful not to spill a single drop of his wine). "I am but a humble man gifted with both incredible strength and incredible beauty--though this place has sadly robbed moi of much of the first. They call moi Vyers, the Dark Adonis."

He straightened not long after and took a drink from the glass. He honestly had no intention of giving up his wine. It had been far too long since he had had such a treat and he was loathe to let such a thing go. Besides, it had been given to him, had it not?

Rosiel looked at the two of them curiously, his eyes lingering on Vyers' wings. His expression was neutral as he listened to their introductions.

"I don't mind," he said to Evangeline, "I didn't come looking for wine, anyway."

There was some small flicker of annoyance on his face, though. A good guess might be that he was used to people falling over themselves to please him, or something of that nature. Still, he was either too distracted to take issue with it, or perhaps he had simply spent enough time in the city to have learned already that he no longer inspired awe and fear in the minds of everybody who saw him.

He allowed his wings to flicker out of sight, and walked nearer to the edge of the roof, looking out at the city, or what little of it was illuminated by the moonlight.

"When I heard the monster screaming, I wanted to see it for myself. But I can't fly that far anymore." He smiled a bit, not a happy smile, "To get to where I want to go, I have to go in 'jumps'..."

Evangeline shot a look at Vyers, she would of done an proper introduction too... but she was wearing white. A color that clashes with being The Dark Evangel. However she was used to her housemate trying to take center stage, so it only annoyed her a moment.

Evangeline picked up her glass for another sip, "You can stay till you can 'jump' again, I think everyone used to flight is having that trouble here." Walking was tedious, she hated it. It was so boring, so mortal, so human. She figured Rosiel would stay without her invitation, but at least it was polite.

The monster let out a loud roar, Evangeline smiled a little at the monsters discomfort. So long as everyone was suffering hardship, and not just her, she could smile. She took out a box of cookies to eat and took one. She figured the others would take one if they wanted if she left them out.

Vyers seemed to notice neither Rosiel's nor Evangeline's annoyance with his introduction, instead calmly listening to the conversation (as was proper for a gentleman), and watching curiously as Rosiel's wings disappeared. Now that he had never seen an angel do. Was he from an alternate Celestia? It would make sense. He had never seen an angel with three wings before.

His eyes flicked toward the horizon in the direction he believed the monster to be. What in the world could be causing it to shriek as loudly as it was? Oh, such a shame it was that it would be doing so without solace. He couldn't say he had much sympathy for it, but if it continued on as it was, its cries would grow to be more than a little annoying.

Vyers finished his glass and set it down before picking back up the blankets he'd been handed earlier (and put down in order to complete his introduction) and tucking them under his arm. "Terrible, is it not?" he added. "You would think they'd have the courtesy to allow at least that!"

"Flight would mean escape," said Rosiel idly, looking at Vyers sidelong. "If you want to keep a bird without a cage, the first thing to do is to cripple its wings." He gestured towards Vyers' wings as he said this, tracing their outline in the air. "Smile if you can fly at all."

As Rosiel stood at the edge of the roof, the wind was catching his hair, blowing it across his face, He took a moment to gather it up, twisting it over his shoulder.

"I assume that you're both creatures opposed to God, and I don't care, because you've been polite to me," he said, turning to face them. "But I want to know everything I can about the gods of the other worlds. Is that a hateful subject that might spoil your picnic, or is there something you could tell me?"

"I don't care about 'God,'" Evangeline offered coldly, "he has no shape or form in my world. My world has demons and monsters, but no 'God.'" Evangeline knows this first hand, there was no God helping or stopping her for 500 years. There were just men and monsters, sometimes the men kill the monster, but way more often in her life the reverse was true.

"Much as I would gather he has no shape or form here, unless God is crying right now." The wind blew Evangeline's long blond hair behind her as she looked off to the horizon, what a stupid topic to bring up, God? Really, such an odd concept for weak children.

Hm... He had a fair point, though it wouldn't matter much in the end if he remained in this world. One couldn't simply fly from one universe to another--at least, not without a dimensional gate. Or no one that he knew of, in any case.

Evangeline had a typical answer, although one with a strange twist to it. It was a demon's nature to oppose gods, no matter what one it happened to be.

Vyers laughed quietly, glancing at Rosiel as one corner of his mouth turned upward into a smirk. "Is there not a saying about assumptions?" he began. "Why in the world would I be opposed to one who has given moi such wonderful gifts?" Looks such has his could only be God-given, after all.

"It doesn't matter," said Rosiel, "Whether there is one or there isn't. But I think that if these worlds connect on any point, then that's where they connect. A relationship between their creators, or even between their creators' creators."

It didn't seem to bother him that this speculation was casually blasphemous. If the angel had been unable to fathom separate gods and systems of rules, his mind probably would have shattered days ago.

At Vyers' reply, Rosiel blinked. "You love your God, then?" he said. "Have you ever met him? Does he love you?"

The question was a bit strange, but so was the asker.
