Cloud needed to find a new place to stay.
Tifa wasn't safe living with him, and he couldn't go back to the hotel and put Aerith in danger. He couldn't risk Sephiroth knowing where either of them lived. Not to mention that the "doubles" thing was giving him an almost constant headache. Living under the same roof with "himself" just didn't sit well with him.
Even though he still has some minor lingering injuries from his fight with Sephiroth, it wasn't like they were so bad that he had to be stuck inside all day, so why was he still here?
It was a good thing this place was a bar.
