She stepped closer to the fire, shivering a bit. When she removed her coat, it was apparent why: she was only lightly clothed. "Again, you have my thanks for doing this. My own experience is limited." She was strong enough to do it so a smithy in Atlantis had let her try once, but that had been over 1500 years ago.
Nice as the warmth felt now, she knew it would feel much hotter later. Kida tossed her coat in a corner, far out of the way, and began to tie back her long white hair. The last thing she wanted was to catch her own head on fire. As she did so, she cocked her head, listening to the high-energy music and the simple lyrics. With a half-smile, she commented, "This song is quite appropriate."

More hammering, flipping the billet of steel to keep the hammering even. Made common sense, too. Way it was, though, it'd take a lot more shaping to get it just the way Kida wanted it...heck of a nasty-lookin' blade, and probably dang good for hooking onto stuff.
Waving his hammer arm over to the quench tank briefly, he said, "Oil goes in there, but be careful with it. What kinda music you like, by the way?"

After emptying the jug, she wiped her brow thanks to the heat. "A friend informed me one style I enjoy is called Gamelan. It is Asian in origin, they said." Almost in the same breath, she continued, "What can I assist you with? I assume you have all the tools over there, yes?" She looked around, unable to see past him to see what tools he already had.

The hammer's arrhythmic pounding of the steel ebbed to the sound of the forge as Mac was forced to reheat the cooling billet. Wiping the sweat from his brow that his bandana didn't catch, he let out a "phew!" and dusted his gloves off on the apron. Now he had some time for talking to Kida. The playlist on his computer had already switched to something new.

"Well...you've been around a forge, right? If I'm doin' anything wrong you notice, lemme know...maybe also keep track of the forge n' stuff while I'm hammering."
