Content: Just another day of trying to get by at the Grand Masonic Lodge. Garnet tries to teach Rion some manners, and they get an unexpected visitor.

Insomnia had Garnet firmly within it's grasp. Even if she'd been in the bed instead of taking a turn in the sleeping bag, she didn't think sleep would have found her any easier. Ever since she'd spoken to Sara, she'd been unable to concentrate; anxious thoughts kept her awake at night, dozing briefly, and rising with the sun. She spent morning hours wandering aimlessly around the lodge in stocking-feet, until the sun was high enough in the sky that she could justify rousing Rion from his own (enviable) slumber.
Quiet and cold, she crept into the room where Rion slept. She worried about him, too. Now that she'd met and spoken with Harry, she felt an even greater obligation to look after the boy. Not that she wouldn't have anyway, but knowing just how much Harry worried, she thought it was the least she could do to ease that worry a bit. He could trust her, she'd make sure of that.
Slowly, one foot in front of the other, Garnet crept closer, until finally she stood at the bedside. She looked down on him sleeping, and for a moment, thought about letting him sleep. Ultimately though, after a few more minutes of silent watching, she decided it wouldn't get him anywhere, to just sleep the day away. Resting a hand on his shoulder, she gave it a gentle shake.
"Rion," she whispered, low and sweet. "Come on, it's time to get up."
