Most of the crabs were taken care of by this point and while there were quite a few minor injuries the only bites that Riza was aware of were from those they had rescued in the tunnel. Riza had left Harry with Thomas after Toph had come to find them. She trusted Toph but mostly it was the fact that the majority of the crabs were taken care of or had fled ( ... )

Despite the fact that the monster was gone and the crabs she'd left had mostly been beaten back, Sora's heart was still pounding somewhere up in his throat. He'd fought huge things before. The Groundshaker in the Pride Lands...even Xemnas's dragon ship had been massive. But they were all dwarfed by that thing, that weird monster that was neither Heartless or Nobody (what was it?) And in the face of something that immense, there really was nothing you could do but feel powerless...and all the fear that came with it ( ... )

Aerith had been waiting at the top of the crater for a while now, waiting in case people needed healing. She'd taken a few minutes to eat - what good was a healer who was starving herself? - and in that small time, everything had happened. By the time she had returned, a large group of people had gathered and even an idiot could tell a lot of them were injured.

Her eye caught Sora and she quickly made her way over.

"Sora! How badly hurt is everyone?" she called out, hurrying forward, worry etched into the healer's face.

"That's a difficult question, Sora...and while I don't want to speak for any of the victims, I would recommend treating the younger ones first," Riza had to put her personal preferences aside. Thomas would be healed eventually but she knew Harry, too, would agree that the kids needed to be treated first. "The youngest ones are going to probably have the most difficult time recovering from the bites...given their size...it only makes sense. When we pulled them out I saw one teenage girl and a boy in green...we need to find them."

Riza looked up when a woman approached, "We have some minor injuries but the people we need to focus on now is the people who were bitten." She gave the woman a look, she wasn't sure if this woman was some sort of medic or if she had a power similar to Sora's ability to heal. She hoped it was the later, they had 8 victims by Riza's count.

Sora nodded at Riza...that made sense in his mind. It made him mad that the people that had done this to them had thought to trap people even younger than him underground, with no food, water or help. "Okay, I'm on it!"

Luckily, Link was already nearby...Kaylee was helping him sit down on the grass. Making sure that Riza was still close by, he made his way over to Link. He looked like he'd had the bite for much longer than just a few days. Just what went on down there?

"Hang on, Link...I'm gonna fix this bite for you." He raised the Keyblade over the blond boy's head.

"Heal!"

The cure spell cast, showering green leaves and lights over Link. The spell took quite a bit out of Sora, but not enough to completely drain him yet. He felt he should have enough for one more cure spell before the Keyblade vanished on him.

Jayne hadn't lost sight of that green; he headed in Link's direction, pausing when Sora cast the spell. That wasn't something he'd ever seen before...

He slowed the hovercraft as they approached, jumping out as it came to a smooth stop. He nodded at Sora, asking, "He got bit?" That realization finally brought Jayne back to the present - his own bite started hurting again almost immediately. But, beyond a mere wince, he refused to show it.

Kaylee sat carefully with Link, still shaking from all that had happened. Giant monsters, crabs, flying bullets...If she hadn't been so sure she loved the sun she might have seriously considered hiding in her hammock for the next decade or ten.

"Alright Link?" she asked after Sora had healed him. He seemed alright. Weak, yeah, real weak, but he was breathing, and he didn't seem to be hurting as bad.

The danger wasn't through yet, but Kaylee couldn't help the small sigh of relief. They had gotten everyone out. It was going to be just shiny.

"Kaylee!"

Daniel came trotting over, wincing slightly ever other step from his bruises. Open relief filled his face at the sight of Link sitting beside her, and the explorer landed on his knees a few feet away, still exhausted from a combination of a working, sleepless night and expelling the last of his energy into the fear-driven crab-bashing he had dealt out in the tunnel.

"Hey, Link, there you are," he said, keeping his voice light in the hopes of cheering him up. The boy looked downright unwell. "I've been looking all over for you. Thought you could get out of that homework assignment by disappearing for a few days, huh?" Bah, the joke didn't even sound that funny to him, but he was tired. Sighing, he sat back on his heels. "Seriously...I'm glad to see you're alright."

Glancing up at Kaylee, he gave her a friendly smile, glad to see the face of one of the few people he considered a real friend around here. "Are you alright?" he asked.

It wasn't unlike when Fairies in Hyrule healed him, Link felt a little energized as the horrible pain and sick feeling was washed away. Oh, he was still in need of food, water and sleep, but at least he didn't feel like he was about to drop dead on the spot anymore.

And he could move his arm again, it was a little stiff from not being used in a couple days, but he could move it again.

He hugged Kaylee close, "Y-yeah, Miss Kaylee, I'll be fine"
He wasn't sure how to react to everything that had happened today, but things couldn't possibally get worse, it was all uphill from here.

"Thanks, Sora", he said to the older boy, greatfull for what he had done for him.

Quite a few people showed up as he was healing Link...Kaylee, Daniel and Jayne. Sora was glad that so many people had shown up. By working together, they'd been able to free the trapped people and rescue them from the monster. If they hadn't been able to get them out in time...well, Sora didn't even want to think about it.

"No problem," Sora replied as soon as he had a chance to catch his breath. "Hey...do you remember anything that happened? Do you remember when you got bitten?" This could be really important...what if the people that had kidnapped them were also in possession of some of the crabs? He was starting to suspect that they had some control over the monster, but what if it extended to the crab parasites as well?

Renji didn't know what to do with Minako but he'd been standing around for awhile now...protecting her from stray crabs and make sure she was safe. Her condition was really bad...worse than when he remembered the last time she was bitten. He wasn't sure who to turn to...the only healer he knew was Orihime and he wasn't even sure if she could heal something like a crab bite.

He brought her over to the small group nearby, he'd heard some stuff from the group and he'd seen what had happened to the kid in green. Healing wasn't something that shocked him since it was something the 4th Division did all the time. He found himself missing the division to be honest...they would be quite helpful in a city like this with injuries happening constantly.

"Hey," he said when he approached the group, directing most of his attention to the kid with the key. Damn he really needed to get himself involved with more people. "I have another bite victim...and she was also pretty sick before that...I'm not sure how bad her condition is now."

Sora had apparently brushed her off in favor of healing a kid in green, so Aerith glanced around for signs of anyone who was severely injured or young and injured. Her eyes landed on a redheaded man carrying a woman in his arms and she walked over to him since Sora was occupied.

"A bite victim?" she asked, beginning to gather up her energy as she stopped nearby. "Just hold her still. I can fix it."

Gathering up her magic, she sent the green light into the woman's veins, searing away the poison and knitting together all the damage that had been done. A frown creased her expression as she noticed the severity of the wound. These people hadn't been gone for that long, had they? Why was the poison so advanced?

She'd have to remember to ask that later.

The healing didn't take very long and soon she glanced up at the redheaded escort with a slight smile. "She should be fine now. If either of you ever need anything in the future, please let me know." She glanced back down at the woman and found herself hoping she would wake up soon.

Zack had managed to climb out of the tunnel with a bit of difficulty, still lugging the large red beast upon his back. Dirt and blood mixed in with the SOLDIER's uniform, he slumped to his knees, spotting the group of healers before looking back over his shoulder.

Still no Loz, Yazoo, or Sephiroth...

Turning back, he gently eased the injured animal out in front of him. "Hey! We got another one here!"

Nanaki had only been able to move a few feet from where he'd fallen the first time before he collapsed again, nearly fainting. So long without food and water, all while fighting infection, digging through the wall, it was all coming crashing down on him at once. He was dimly aware when he was lifted, by the all new aches he felt in his new postion, and he felt himself being carried.

"Hey! We got another one here!" he heard through the ringing in his ears. As soon as he felt the ground under him again, he finally gave in to unconsciousness.

Somehow through the commotion, Sora heard Zack's yell for help. He made his way back through the crowd, lugging the Keyblade with him, until he finally spotted Zack and the other injured party. Red XIII, one of Vincent and Zack's friends. And from the looks of it, he also had gotten a crab bite...he looked just as bad as Link had been.

And worst of all, he'd fallen unconscious. There was no time to waste!

"Heal!"

Sora managed to force another cure spell out of the Keyblade, and the spell took effect over Nanaki. With that, however, he completely exhausted himself. The Keyblade vanished from his grasp, and he pitched forward, gasping for breath.

Zack stepped back when the younger boy rushed over, bending his sprained ankle in an awkward way and inhaling sharply at the jolt of pain. But that wasn't important, and Sora didn't need to think it was.

The casting of the spell served only to worry the SOLDIER; what if he'd been too late? What if it was irreversible? The beast had already been weaker than he should've...

"Think he's okay now?" The dark-haired man asked quietly, concerned.
