Today was shaping up to be just any old day as far as Seymour was concerned. He had no reason to be on alert for an attack, even if he was tracking the monsters' paths down Park Avenue. Today he was out and about to look out for the people, to be of use to them and prove to Sora that he had... "changed." Naturally, nothing of the sort had occurred at all, but it never hurt to cover one's tracks and be sure no one was suspicious.
He'd been careless when Cloverfield had died. He wouldn't be so careless in the future.
Of course, now there were two of them, two he could look after and strive to use like he had made strides to become Sin on Spira. With more than one, Manhattan's destruction was imminent. They would all be saved soon, no doubt about that. And he would laugh at them because they had doubted him. He would help destroy this place. He would save them all from their suffering.
It was the least he could do as a maester away from home.
So, he took to the streets that day, ready for anything... or so he thought.
