Wolf really shouldn't have been out around now, but he was full of so much boundless energy around the full moon that he didn't care one bit. Monsters both big and small could go crawl into their little holes and die for all he cared. He wanted to bound around the whole city, run through the streets and revel in all this terrible energy this time of month left him with (even if it also left him with awful cramps.) He knew that eventually Harry would try and drag him back home and he'd have to suffer through a sleepless night of pain and incoherency. But until then...

He stopped his wild darting through the streets for a bit of a breather, feeling the moon on the sky even though it wasn't quite evening yet. It was then that he realized that he was by a library...well, if he went in and found some more self-help books, he could always make that excuse for being out on this day. Finding books. Yes. That would fly, wouldn't it?

Shaking stray snow and slush off his jacket and shoes, he stepped inside the library, growling to himself. Books. Yes. Next best thing to fields full of fluffy sheep, big feathered chickens in their coups, shepherdesses sitting in the fields with--

Wolf sniffed. There was someone else already in this library. The smell of someone young, and female.

"Helloooooooooo, who's there?"

Velvet was already far into the library, trying to understand the rather bizarre classification for the books. So many different subjects, some she had never even heard of, yet she couldn't find what she was looking for: prophecies. Great men and beasts had once gazed into the future and seen what needed to be seen, and this world should be no exception.

Gazing back and forth across the shelves and lost in concentration, she barely heard the man's voice. She wasn't sure if someone else was there, but in the end, this was a library, it wasn't as if she was the only one allowed in.

Finding no reason to call back, she went back to her search, ignoring the voice.

Wolf might have wandered off again without an answer, but now he was overcome with curiosity. That, and he was on the high end of one of his monthly mood swings...overly friendly and socialable, rather than sullen and violent. Besides, this was an interesting scent, and he wanted to follow it.

He tromped up the stairs in search of the source of it, glancing back and forth every step of the way. He was supposed to be here for books, right? Those could wait until later. "Awwwwr, come on come on, don't be shy!"

Velvet looked up from the book she found, annoyed at being disturbed during her research. "Who is there?" she called rather bluntly, her voice filled with authority. She wasn't here to chat after all, not that she regularly did that in the first place.

She almost drew her chains out before realizing that there was no danger... yet. She was in another world and no one from Erion was here. She hadn't made enemies here, in fact, her acquaintances were rare even here. There was no need to be on guard, it was just someone who never heard of being quiet in a library.

Wolf didn't really have much mind to be quiet anywhere, let alone a library, and especially during days like this. He mostly ignored the question and jumped the rest of the way up the stairs, where he spotted a young girl dressed in a red hood, holding onto a large book. If he didn't know any better, he would've thought that she'd jumped right out of one of his history books.

Not many girls went around dressed almost entirely in red hoods, even during the cold winter. Very interesting indeed.

He leaned against the railing, staring back with a charming, ear-to-ear smile indicating that she had his full attention. "Ah hello! What're yoooou doing here all by your lonesome?"

Perhaps her previous assumption would be wrong as the look on the man's face didn't inspire much trust. Velvet simply stared him down, slamming the book closed. Just who did he think he was?

"I am conducting research," she answered coldly taking a step back out of pure reflex, "And I do not wish to be disturbed. What do you want with me?" She didn't know why the man was suddenly interested in her, but if he was to try anything... well, she had gotten out of much worse situations.

Unfortunately, that sort of apprehension just drew in Wolf's attention all the more. While he was trying to keep Giselle and Harry's thoughts in mind (be polite! Be sensible!) it was difficult to fight off instincts around this time. When Velvet backed up, he just took a step closer.

Although as it were, his intentions weren't dishonorable just yet. He was still just completely curious. "Is that so? What're you researching?" He seemed to completely ignore the whole bit about not wanting to be disturbed. She smelled way too interesting to just trot off again.

What was so interesting about a woman doing research at night? "Prophecies of this land," she answered back, not caring one bit if it somehow made her look crazy in his eyes. Prophecies explained the end of the world and how to stop it (... in a way), perhaps the same could be said about this world as well.

This time, she stood her ground, still staring him down. "Now. What brings you here?"

Prophecies? Not that Wolf didn't believe those existed, because he was certain they did, but they usually never boded well...at least for the likes of him. At least in Wolf's experience, prophecies tended to just solidify into being something you already knew was going to happen. "I wasn't aware that this dimension had any prophecies," he mused as much to himself as to her. You'd figure someone here would've mentioned any prophecies involving giant monsters if that was the case.

This one had a lot of spunk. "Ohhhrrr, just in the mood to go out and about, as it were!" The charming smile came back to his face. "And I thought I smelled something interesting, awwwr!"

"How so?" Velvet asked. As much as she wanted to simply ignore the strange man, she couldn't simply ignore his musings. Tragedies such as these have been predicted back in Erion, has she been wrong to assume it would work the same here? After all, she had been wrong about the food here, it didn't just pop up from the ground... sadly.

However, any meaningful thoughts were quickly gone. 'Smelled'? He truly did say 'smelled', right? Who in their right minds would say something like that? She took another step back, her expression still icy cold.

Wolf began to pace back and forth in place as he often did when excited or thinking...in this case both. "Hrrrr, awwwr, well, if there were any prophecies in this sort of dimension, you would assssume that someone would've mentioned it by now. Considering the city-destroying monsters and all that."

Wow, this one was practically an ice queen. Perhaps he was making her nervous? The problem with that was, it just made it all the more fun. He continued to pace around in a wide circle, although his expression became a little more wild with each turn.

That was true... matter of fact, each time something new happened, no one seemed to know that it could happen. "Perhaps they are well hidden, or lost among the ages," she said, lowering her head deep thought, her arrogant air suddenly lost, betraying a small bit of embarrassment and nervousness. "We have been taken here against our wills, have we not? Perhaps that is why."

But then again, perhaps this was a dead end after all. Indeed, a quick explanation or a glimpse in the future would be too good to be true. Pondering these developments, she nearly missed some of the man's reactions. She still held on to her book tightly, ready to hurl it at him if he was to try anything. It's not that she wanted to attack him right now, but his behavior was becoming stranger and stranger by the moment. Something was wrong.

Wolf's mind was wandering off in all sorts of random directions again, almost faster than his pacing. He hardly heard most of what she said, until finally he stopped and turned to face her again. She seemed a lot less authoritative all of a sudden, or perhaps she was thinking something over? Ah well, no matter.

He leaned in a little closer. "Hrmmmm, I'm sorry? Why what?"

His sudden movement automatically made Velvet jump back. Her arrogant air was back, almost warning him of things that could happen if he dared to come any closer.

"It does not matter," she finally answered. "The fact still remains that it could be a a plausible alternative."

((Err, sorry 'bout that))

"Hmmm, perhaps, perhaps not," he mused back.

Despite his rather frenzied state of being, Wolf could still easily pick up on a few of the smells from her...nervousness, uncertainty, and of course her expression was arrogant again. A little like how some of the shepherdesses back home acted, but then again, not exactly the same.

"Iiiiiis something bothering you?"
