Content: Being the designated driver (and by “driver” read as That Guy who overseas the local drunks back to their home to ensure they don’t get ambushed by crabs), Odd’s got himself into a bit of a tangle. One which involves the internal drama between Zidane and Garnet. Fun times.

Seeing Odd outside on the bench, Zidane offered a half-grin and a small wave, stepping up before him. "Hope you hadn't been waiting long. Top floors, heh. Takes a bit."

And because people often did stupid things when they were drunk. That was always another factor, wasn’t it?
Hands in the pockets of his sweater, Odd rose up from the bench. His legs were stiff, though tapping and keeping himself slightly mobile even while sitting helped keep the blood flowing.
“That’s fine. By now I’m used to this weather.” Odd had spent enough time outside to have developed a tolerance to it. Still had to be careful, unfortunately... The last thing he needed was to catch something like pneumonia again in a place like this. Or worse, for that matter. “Pete’s Tavern is quite a walk away, but long as you stay clear from back alleys, dark roads, and shortcuts, it should be safe.”
Safe. What was safe in this city?

Just didn't know how long he'd have it for.
"I've gotten pretty use to it, too," Zidane commented. He'd traveled enough all over Gaia to feel various degrees of weather; the dry heat was what he hated the most. "And even if we run into trouble, we should be fine." He nodded to the metal rod on his back, shaped into a point at one end, and showing its use even though he tried to keep it clean. "Trust me, we won't go down easy."
Zidane knew well enough to avoid what Odd mentioned. He did sometimes found it a bit fun to wander through, shortcuts especially. But Odd didn't look like he was quite into that sort of excitement as Zidane was. Shame. Although Zidane was quickly reminded that he wasn't out for a thrill, a nagging song in the back of his mind, and to keep his face ( ... )
