Roxas was a little concerned.

Firstly, he was concerned that it was cold, and cold didn't agree with Axel.

Secondly, he was concerned that Axel wasn't going to use the chakrams he'd got hold of. He knew they weren't really Axel's chakrams, and sure, Roxas could understand perfectly well that a weapon you just picked up wasn't - never could be - anything like the same as one that you called to your hand from inside yourself ... but he couldn't quite fathom what was wrong with using the next best thing.

That bothered him because he didn't like it when he couldn't understand Axel. It was fine with everyone else, because they had feelings, and Roxas accepted that he didn't understand those, but Axel was supposed to be the same as him as far as all that was concerned. Nothing new there, though, Axel was frequently baffling, for all that it annoyed him. No, what concerned Roxas the most was the fact that without chakrams and in the snow, Axel was at a relative disadvantage.

Roxas wasn't worried about fair fights. If he only picked fair fights he'd probably have done a lot less fighting in his time. But he knew that this meant that if he lost, he'd be humiliated - winning a fight like this wouldn't prove anything.

But, he thought, passing the weapon he was using from one hand to the other, it wasn't like he was about to call the whole thing off. He wanted a fight.

Roxas shifted his feet on the snowcovered rooftop for a moment, to feel how slippery it was under his shoes, and then looked over at Axel. "You ready?"

Plus, you know, he'd never say so, but ... spending time with Axel was always a bonus.

axel, roxas
