Characters: Larxene, Drusilla and Garnet Content: Drusilla found her Larxene a healer. Location: Larxene and Drusilla's appartment. Time of day: Evening. Warnings: None... yet...
Garnet had made sure she was prepared. She'd bundled up in her coat, and boots, and added a scarf to the ensemble so she wouldn't freeze on the walk across the city. Then, she'd secured her knife, snug in it's sheath, to her belt. A moment to scrawl out a quick note for Zidane, incase he didn't check the network. Pawing through the space behind the Concierge desk at the hotel, she found exactly what she'd been looking for -- a map. Perfect.
After taking a few minutes to plot the quickest, straightest course, she set out into the cold. She kept on her guard, eyes darting around to make sure she wasn't being followed, by person or parasite. The sun had started to set by the time she made it to the right part of town. At least, she hoped it was the right part of town. The girl on the network hadn't said what building they were in, so the former queen let her intuition guide her. She picked the building that looked the most inhabitable, and let herself in. Nothing to do now, but try the doors until someone answered.
After knocking on several doors, and getting no answer, she moved on to her fifth door, she tucked her map into her pocket, knocked, and waited.
"She's more than likely made friends in the city," Larxene mused. "It wouldn't do us any good to do away with her when the rest would only follow."
There was a knock on the front door of the apartment, and Larxene pulled her head from Drusilla's lap reluctantly. She'd have to reward the vampire later for being so good to her.
Drusilla put a pillow under Larxene's head and smiled as she got off the bed. "It was just a thought, love," she cooed. "Let me go get the witch for you."
Drusilla slowly walked out of the room to the door, opening it and smiling toothily at the girl. "Hello darling," she said softly, moving aside to let her in. "Hope no nasties got you on your way over..."
She grabbed one of the girl's hands with her own and carefully tugged her towards Larxene's room. "My Larxene is in here... Are you sure you can fix her?"
Judging by the eager greeting, Garnet was in the right place. She'd barely had a chance to say her Hello's before Drusilla had grabbed her hand.
"I'm... fairly certain. It's worked before," said Garnet. Although, it had taken a lot out of her last time.
When Drusilla pulled her into the room, Garnet nearly gasped. she managed to silence herself with one hand over her mouth. The blond woman on the bed was much worse off that Wash had seemed. He had been up, talking, if not a bit woozy, but Larxene...
Slowly, Garnet stepped into the room.
"Hello," she began softly, drawing closer to the bed. "My name is Garnet. I'm here to help you. Could you show me where you've been injured?"
Larxene listened closely to the exchange in the other room, and did her best to at least smile at the young woman who entered--be polite, they'll give you more.
She tossed the blanked back from her legs when Garnet asked. As she was only in her underwear, the view of her swollen leg was clear. The skin around the wound had grown an ugly purple, tinted here and there with green. The wound itself was visibly oozing with puss.
Drusilla remained by the door, watching the girl make her way closer to Larxene. She folded her hands in front of her and watched both of them closely. She made a sound that could've been despair when her sweet revealed the horrid wound.
Stupid, ugly, fat man... If only he'd answered her plea for Larxene to be healed, it wouldn't have gotten this bad. There wasn't much the vampire could do, so she continued to linger at the far end of the room and watch everything.
Garnet stared at the wound, aghast. It was worse than she had expected. She'd need to use two different spells if she was going to clear this up completely. Lowering her hands towards Larxene's leg, she closed her eyes and concentrated. This was going to take every bit of focus she had.
"Curaga."
One soft, whispered word, and a brilliant light formed beneath her hands. Warm, and almost sparkling, it seemed to flow like water, seeping into the wound. All the while Garnet remained still and silent, as the spell did it's job. The swelling went down, and the skin slowly returned to it's natural color. And finally, as the light dimmed, the skin drew back together, seeming to stitch itself up. When the light had vanished, there seemed no trace left of the wound.
The effect on Garnet was like a vacuum; She felt her inside lurch, and her strength sapped in a matter of seconds. Her shoulders slumped as she inhaled, preparing herself for the second half of the spell. This one would take care of the remaining infection. Holding her hands out, palms facing each other, she whispered again.
"Pancea," and a ball of light formed between her hands. It spread over Larxene then, seeming to seep into her skin, cleansing away what remained of the parasite's virus.
Garnet opened her eyes, and the room seemed to spin.
Larxene watched, very interested, as the woman's spell did its work. White magic was such an intriguing thing. Her skin cooled as the spell did its work, and the terrible ache that had been the wound melted away to nothing.
Pleased with the result, Larxene's first step was to steady the girl before she swayed too far and landed on her. "Drusilla, dearest, would you bring her something to drink?"
As Drusilla got the drinks, Larxene helped Garnet to the bed where she could sit. There was nothing to gain from being rude at this point, and after the crocodile adventures she really wasn't in the mood for no trouble. No, best to give the girl a nice experience, spread the word that all was well and good. Now that Larxene could use.
Drusilla also watched what was going on very curiously. She even took a few steps forward to take a better look at the witch as she performed her magic. She made no move to help the girl stand as she swayed in place, so it was probably best that Larxene had done so. Wide eyes glancing up at the woman, she nodded her head slowly and left the room.
So the witch's spell had worked... Drusilla opened the fridge and removed two bottles of water from the door, figuring Larxene would want something as well. (And she knew neither of the women would want one of her blood packets...)
She reentered the room to find the girl on the bed. Carefully making her way over to the two, Drusilla offered each of them a bottle before placing her hand gently on Larxene's shoulder. "She made you feel better, love?" she whispered in her caretaker's ear.
Garnet wasn't sure exactly how she came to be sitting on the bed, or what either of the women were talking about. She just sat there, her head bent over, eyes shut, fingers to her temples. The spinning had calmed itself to a gentle sway, as a dull headache crept it's way in.
When Drusilla approached, Garnet looked up, and found the room still swaying slightly. Still, she managed to reach out for the bottled water, her bleary eyes filled with gratitude. "Thank you," she murmured, trying to pull herself together.
Larxene accepted the bottle of water and twisted it open, pausing a moment to take a few sips before responding to Drusilla. "Much better," she assured the vampire.
A hand moved to Garnet's shoulder to comfort a little, and Larxene reached over to open the bottle of water for the girl. "Thank you," she said softly, her words a bit sugar-coated. It was hard to be grateful for something when you lacked the capability.
At least she wasn't dead. And at least it hadn't been the keyblade wielder who had caused it this time around.
