She'd caught up with him on the network and told him to meet him at the tavern. It was probably the one cozy place left in Manhattan, that stood the test of the weather and whatever monsters were running around the city.
Jill sits at one of the booths near the back of the bar, poking at leftover Christmas decorations scattered throughout the bar. A little bit of mistletoe still hangs from the light fixture over the booth, and Jill doesn't notice it. She's busy twisting the cap off of her bottle of Sam Adams. There's one sitting on the other side of the table for Luis, when he arrives.
