She groaned. Her head... it hurt. Why did it hurt? That... creature, whatever it was, seemed to have vanished from the city. Things had been quiet for almost a week now.
Raven sat up, squinting as the sun glared down at her. She looked around, trying to gain her bearings, but didn't see anything immediately familiar. There was a dilapidated stadium, but there wasn't anything that big in Jump City. Then it hit her.
She wasn't in Jump City. All that remained was to find out where she was now.
Standing up, Raven tried to fly to see what she could tell from above. Nothing happened. She tried again, with the same result.
She couldn't fly. Something had happened to her powers. But what...?
Well, that was no big deal. She could walk. It was a little more inconvenient, but she could manage. It was nothing to worry about. But Raven paused when she heard noises behind her. Suspicious, she turned, only to stare in confusion at the sight she beheld.
“Crabs...?” she wondered under her breath. They seemed to have heard her, as a few of them turned and started coming toward her, looking none too friendly. She instinctively called upon her powers, telekinetically picking up pieces of rubble for defense. When the foremost few jumped at her, she threw it at them, picking up more pieces and repeating the process before turning and running.
It'd be nice if I could fly here...
