Time of Day: Midday.
Warnings: Violence, crab torture and death and then some.

Death had not come for him; to that, Aximili was grateful. Regardless, the pain had been by far most unbearable. The fact that he had lost consciousness earlier was nonetheless disconcerting. Too much to simply allow it to slide by disregarded.

Human for now, Aximili huddled behind a nearby abandoned truck, peering from the bottom around the wheels at one of those lone crab parasites. For the time being, it was merely writhing in pain, likely suffering the same aftermath and migraine as Aximili had. It did fascinate Aximili, even from a distance, observing the reaction of the creature. Certainly this proved that these, too, were as susceptible to pain as anyone else.

Interesting.

If he had been in Andalite form, the sound of hooves over pavement would have without a doubt drawn attention toward him. No. Stealth was the best way to go for this, and while his human form was feeble and helpless without the comfort of his tail blade, he was quieter this way. Steadily, he reached for a wooden baseball bat he had left in the bed of the truck earlier, and commenced stalking around the creature from behind. It writhed in agony still, screeching, crying, letting out jeers as ooze seeped from down what looked like its face.

Then Aximili stood out in the open, baseball bat hanging at his side. He wore skin-tight clothing, sufficient for morphing but not for this cold weather with no jacket to keep him warm. Not to mention his bare feet over the freezing pavement didn’t help, either. No sense worrying about that now. Adrenaline of both rush and excitement pulsing through his blood was enough to keep his motor going.

Aximili had to bang on the side of the truck in order to get the monster’s attention. It reacted slower than he expected, but then, he supposed the creature had other things on its primitive animal mind. Like that terrible, unbearable agony. Aximili knew, for he was suffering the same effects. His eyes were still bloodshot from the attack, with the taste of blood fresh in his mouth and still barely cleaned out of his ears.

Letting out a shrilling cry, the parasite lunged itself into the air. Yelling on impulse, Aximili swung the baseball bat over his shoulder, around, impacting the creature in midair with as much force as he could manage.

His human body was weak, but that swing possessed enough force to rebound the heavy creature away from him, and tumbling. A pathetic crackling sound gurgled from its maws as Ax approached the stunned creature, the tip of his bat cracked and smeared with what he presumed to be of the creatures blood.

As the parasite attempted to shakily rise, Aximili swung what was left of the bat over his shoulder, and down. Down into the shell of the creature, breaking that thick layer, and then again. Its screams did not bother the alien. He was used to them. If anything, the cries of his enemies made him pleased.

Aboard the Intrepid, Aximili had grown so bored. Recent near death experiences aside, this was more exciting to him than anything else.

Eventually, after a few other swings that cracked the baseball bat enough to near uselessness, the parasite made no struggle or sound. It just laid there in a heap at Aximili’s feet.

Panting, the alien tossed the broken bat aside, and took the creature by its legs. He groaned in disgust. Damn his human senses, picking up the stench of the parasite from close proximity for such short time.

Oh well. He would worry about that later. Until then, Aximili had his hands full. Quite literally, in fact. It was difficult enough dragging the creature back into the electronic store he’d taken refuge in. The slightest movements at times caused him extreme strain, as the headache would not relent. Perhaps with some assistance, he would be able to successfully complete the task, especially in his state.

Perhaps.
