[ooc: I'd almost forgotten about the sniper riple, nyuk. Thanks. 8D;]

Ratchet jumped up at the dull pounding and looked around quickly, trying to find the source. Were the crabs trying to get in? He didn't think they'd be so polite as to knock, at least... Leaning back, the Lombax squinted outside of the room, into the main department, and noticed a silver-haired man standing outside with a heavy sweatshirt. ...Sephiroth?

Silding off the stool he'd been sleeping on, the alien clambered over to the door with a yawn and unlocked it, letting the man in. A better look at him revealed that... well, it wasn't quite Sephiroth, but he sure seemed to look like him. A brother perhaps? Cousin? Ratchet mentally shrugged.

"Ah, sorry. I was working on the guns all night and I guess I must've fallen asleep." He said with a sheepish laugh. "Uh, wait here a sec."

Darting back to the worktable, the Lombax quickly rummaged through the various toolboxes, wrenches, plyers, and Qwark knew what else to find the gunblades and the rifle. Well, there was the rifle, at least. Aaaand... there were the gunblades. Perfect!

'Ha, Clank'd blow a circuit if he saw how unorganized I was here.' Ratchet thought to himself, as he made his way back to the front desk. Handing the man the sniper rifle, the Lombax held on to the gunblades for a moment. "Now, I've never made anything this advanced before, and with the limited supplies in this place, I wasn't able to make it look, uh... too fancy. But they do work, and you might need to be a little careful. I'm not sure how they'll hold up in this world."

Following Ratchet inside, Yazoo gave the strange little creature a visual once-over. His interest was short-lived, however. Ratchet was odd-looking, but Yazoo had seen worse (much worse), and right now the only thing he really cared about was getting his guns.

He waited as Ratchet had directed, using the opportunity to unpack what he'd brought. Yazoo laid the tools and money out on the desk, and was just laying down the pistol when Ratchet returned, guns in hand. Yazoo accepted the rifle from him and looked it over, testing the balance and heft, and pausing to sight along it.

"Let me see them." Setting the sniper rifle carefully inside the duffel, Yazoo reached for the gunblades. Ratchet was right -- they did seem a little different from the ones he was used to, not quite as smooth when he lifted them, and they were certainly no Velvet Nightmare. But the guns were solid. He would simply have to avoid using them to block or parry.

"They'll do," Yazoo said, and gave the Lombax a wry smile. He slid one of the gunblades into the bag and put the other in the till-now-empty holster that he'd put on under his sweatshirt. The silver-haired man nodded to the items he'd brought for trade. "You said something about a wrench?" he half-asked, indicating the tools. "The pistol's a good gun, but it doesn't do enough damage for my tastes." He shrugged. "It's about the right size for you, though. You should be able to handle the recoil just fine."

[OOC: That took entirely too long on my part. >_> I'm sorry. Having kittens is like having multiple human babies that like to climb your skin.]

Picking up the pistol, Ratchet gave the weapon a once-over glance. A little... small for his tastes. But it did kinda remind him of one of his Dual Vipers back in Dreadzone? He wondered if it was that useful or effective. "I've never really seen anything like this before..." He admitted thoughtfully. "But hey, a weapon's a weapon! Thanks!"

Slipping the gun into a leather holster, Ratchet looked back up at the silver-haired man and tilted his head curiously at the gunblades. "I've never really seen those types of weapons in my galaxy, either. It was kinda tough making 'em. Are they common where you're from?"

[ooc: No prob! Just wasn't sure if you got the first poke since your inbox failed.]

"Not ones quite like these, no," Yazoo responded absently; he'd taken one of the makeshift gunblades out again and was fiddling with it, comparing the finished product to what he had imagined when he'd asked Ratchet to make them. "This world is different... no mako bullets, for one thing."

But that's alright. The hunting and gun collecting magazines he looked over before commissioning the weapons were a good source of information. Exploding bullets... now those sounded fun. Yazoo had already resolved to find some before going after Marluxia.

He turned back towards Ratchet, sighting down the gunblade at him -- not deliberately, but he didn't stop even after realizing what (who) he was aiming at as he mock-fired the gunblade, trying to guess at the recoil from the weight of it in his hand. "What do you have where you come from?"

"I've never heard of mako bullets." Ratchet replied casually, even as the weapon was aimed at him. It hadn't detered him in the slightest, as he'd been the one back home to do the exact same thing. (And accidently firing at a few people, to Clank's dismay.) "And the bullets here are really weird too; these little metal things. I've never seen anything that weak before, and I've wielded a Blaster gun before."

At Yazoo's inquiry, the Lombax scooted off the seat to dig underneath the front desk for something, his tail wagging as proof that he hadn't gotten himself lost under it. Sheets of paper were laid upon the desk, two by two, and Ratchet hopped back up into his seat to spread them out.

"I made a few blueprints of what I'm used to back in my galaxy. I wanna see if I can try and make 'em here, too."

[ooc: The blueprints would consists of different variations of the Dual Vipers, Plasma Whip, and of course, the Omniwrench.

Moving to look over Ratchet's shoulder (or rather, over his ears), Yazoo inspected the blueprints. "I've never seen anything like these..." he mused, shaking his head. "This one..." He tapped a forefinger on the sheet labeled "plasma whip," frowning. "It looks a bit like a mako weapon, but you said you don't use mako..." He glanced over the omniwrench without much interest -- it looked more like a tool than a weapon -- and inspected the blueprint of the twin handguns.

"Where I'm from," he explained, "we use mako as a power source. It's the Planet's lifeforce, but Shinra -- the Shinra Electric Power Company -- found a way to convert it into energy, and for a long time it powered most of the big cities on Gaia." Yazoo stepped back and put the gunblade away. He was conscious of the time, and knew he should be getting back -- but it was nice to talk to someone with an interest in guns. "Mako energy also condenses naturally into crystals called Materia, and when you refine Materia, it can be used for all sorts of things. Attack magic, summoning... healing..." He sighed, flexing his left hand absently. If only he had a Heal Materia, Loz wouldn't be...

"I should go." Picking up the duffel, Yazoo offered his hand to Ratchet. "If you ever do finish your weapons, I'd like to see them."

"Can't say I've ever heard of a planet having a lifeforce." Ratchet admitted, looking back at the man. "All this magic and energy and stuff, we don't have all of that." Though the Lombax's curiousity had been piqued by all this talk of 'magic' in Manhattan; he needed to make it a personal goal to see it in action, even if just once.

Noticing Yazoo about to leave, Ratchet shook the extended hand with a grin. "You'll be the first I show! It was nice doing business with you, Yazoo!"
